In a continuation of events aimed at spreading awareness of breast cancer throughout October, Ruiz Foods employees went pink for the cause Thursday. As a part of the company’s annual Pink Out Day, Ruiz Foods donated $5 to Reba’s Ranch House and its Room for Hope for each employee who dressed in pink Thursday.
In total the company donated $3,755 for the 751 employees who came to work wearing pink clothing Thursday. In addition to raising money, employees were provided with educational pamphlets on breast cancer.
This represents the third year that the food manufacturer has held activities aimed at breast cancer awareness and fundraising efforts. In total more than $11,000 has been donated to charitable causes during the pink out events, officials said.
