Mild temperatures and sunny skies are predicted for the annual golf tournament and fundraiser, the 19th Annual Tinka Looney Memorial Golf Classic.

Hosted by the Denison Education Foundation, the four-man scramble at Denison Country Club (golfers can put their own teams together if they wish) benefits Denison Independent School District students through DEF grants and scholarships. Registration starts at 9 a.m. followed by a 10 a.m. shotgun start.

The entry fee is $125 and includes a day of golf, lunch, raffle items, individual contests prizes and a $50,000 Hole-In-One prize.

“The great majority of our golfers traditionally sign up to play this week, so please go to http://www.denisonisd.net or call 903-462-7050 to or to be a sponsor, ” said Matt Looney, whose late mother established the core mission of today’s Denison Education Foundation. “Weather forecasters are predicting near-perfect weather, so we’re expecting a huge turnout of golfers.”
