Sherman Police


Public intoxication — Officers were dispatched on Oct. 9 to the 600 block of East Taylor Street in reference to a person sleeping inside a vehicle. They performed a standardized field sobriety test on the male suspect and found him to be intoxicated on some type of narcotic. The suspect was arrested for public intoxication.


Theft — An officer was dispatched on Oct. 6 to the 2400 block of Remuda Drive in reference to theft of property. The victim stated that building materials were stolen earlier in the week when neither he nor any of the workers were present. A report for theft of property from $2,500-$30,000 was filed.


Fraud — An officer spoke on Oct. 6 with a female complainant in the police department lobby. She stated that a suspect had created and cashed a check with her account information on it. A report for fraudulent use and possession of identifying information less than five items was completed.


Assault — An officer responded on Oct. 7 to a female complainant in the 2100 block of Texoma Drive. She stated that her boyfriend slammed a door on her wrist, which caused her pain. The boyfriend admitted doing so to prevent her from leaving the room. He was arrested for assault causing bodily injury to a family member.


Driving while intoxicated — Officers were dispatched on Oct. 6 to a major accident in the 1900 block of South U.S. Highway 75 North. Upon their arrival, it was determined that the male driver was intoxicated and in possession of pills. The driver was arrested and reports were filed for driving while intoxicated and possession of a controlled substance from three to 28 grams.


Criminal mischief — Officers responded to a call on Oct. 6 in reference to suspicious activity in the 400 block of U.S. Highway 82. Upon their arrival, they learned that a vehicle had been vandalized. A report for criminal mischief was generated.


Disorderly conduct — An officer was dispatched on Oct. 6 to a disturbance in the 200 block of South Rusk Street. Upon arrival, he spoke with both involved parties. They said they had fought each other but no one was hurt or offended. A report for disorderly conduct was completed.


Possession — Officers responded on Oct. 7 to a family disturbance at the Sherman Police Department. An investigation revealed a suspect to be in possession of methamphetamine pipes. A report for possession of a controlled substance less than one gram was filed.


Theft — Officers responded on Oct. 7 to a female complainant in the 900 block of East Martin Lane. She stated that her vehicle was stolen from her residence. The victim stated that her vehicle was worth approximately $3,500. A report for theft of property from $2,500-$30,000 was generated.


Forgery — Officers were dispatched on Oct. 7 to a call from the 1800 block of West Texoma Parkway. Through their investigation, officers learned that a customer attempted to purchase a drink with counterfeit money. The money was seized and a report for forgery was filed.


Forgery — An officer spoke with a female complainant in the lobby of the Sherman Police Department on Oct. 8. She stated that she was given counterfeit money when suspects purchased items from her in the 1100 block of North Wharton Street. A report for forgery was filed.


Burglary — Officers responded on Oct. 9 to a male complainant in the 2900 block of Michelle Drive. He stated that a suspect gained entry into his vehicle and took property. A report for burglary of a vehicle was generated.


Death investigation — Officers were dispatched on Oct. 8 to the 1700 block of South FM 1417 in reference to an unconscious male. An inquest was performed and a death investigation report was completed.


Burglary — The public safety administrator made contact on Oct. 9 with a female complainant. She stated that a suspect gained entry into her vehicle and took property. A report for burglary of a vehicle was filed.


Theft — The public safety administrator made contact on Oct. 9 with a female complainant. She stated that a female suspect took her wallet out of her purse while visiting her in the 1500 block of Texoma Parkway. A report for theft was generated.


Denison Police


Assault — An officer responded on Oct. 5 to a female victim in the 1400 block of South Maurice. She stated that her boyfriend was drinking, became belligerent and assaulted her. The male suspect was arrested for assault causing bodily injury/family violence.


Stolen Vehicle — A female complainant stated on Oct. 5 that a suspect stole her 1998 Nissan Pathfinder, dark green in color with an Oklahoma license plate. The vehicle was parked in a parking lot.


Traffic stop — A vehicle was stopped on Oct. 5 for a traffic violation in the 2000 block of South Austin. The female driver was arrested for having no proof of financial responsibility.


Theft — A complainant reported on Oct. 5 that a suspect stole a 16-foot Big Tex Trailer from the 2000 block of South Austin. The trailer is black in color with a tool box in the back.


Criminal trespass — Officers responded on Oct. 5 to the call of a female suspect on a property. The female suspect had previously received a criminal trespass warning for being on the property and was arrested for criminal trespass.
