Denison Police


Theft — Dispatch received a call on Sept. 29 from store personnel in the 400 block of North U.S. Highway 75. They reported that a male suspect chose a television from a shelf and then asked a store associate to place it behind the register for purchase later. The suspect then selected a sound bar. When the associate was busy with another customer, the suspect left the store with the television and sound bar and did not pay for the merchandise. He and a female, who had also been in the store, left the scene in a white vehicle. The investigation will continue.


Burglary — An officer responded on Sept. 28 to a female complainant in the 1500 block of West Gandy. She reported that a suspect had entered her residence by forcing a door open. She added that her residence was left in such disarray that she could not determine what might be missing at the time of her call.


Traffic stop — A vehicle was stopped on Sept. 27 for a traffic violation in the 700 block of West Coffin. The male driver was arrested for possession of marijuana less than two ounces.


Traffic stop — A vehicle was stopped on Sept. 27 for a traffic violation in the 600 block of West Hull. The male driver was arrested for possession of drug paraphernalia and defective equipment. Two female occupants in the vehicle were arrested for possession of marijuana less than two ounces.


Traffic stop — A vehicle was stopped on Sept. 28 for a traffic violation in the 700 block of West Brock. The male driver was arrested for driving while intoxicated and resisting arrest/search/transport.


Intoxicated person — Officers responded on Sept. 29 to a call reporting an intoxicated person who was asleep in the 600 block of West Main. The male suspect was arrested for public intoxication, and warrants from the city of Denison and Grayson County.


Public intoxication — Officers were dispatched on Sept. 29 to the 500 block of West Morton in reference to a man trying to get into a residence. The male suspect was arrested for public intoxication.


Disorderly conduct — Officers were dispatched on Sept. 29 to a fight in the 600 block of West Morgan. A male suspect was arrested for disorderly conduct.


Public intoxication — An officer on patrol on Sept. 29 observed a male suspect walking, unsteady on his feet, in a parking lot. The suspect was arrested for public intoxication.


Burglary — A male complainant reported on Sept. 30 that a suspect entered his unlocked vehicle and took several miscellaneous tools.


Theft — An officer responded on Sept. 30 to a female complainant in the 100 block of Sharon Circle. She stated that a male stayed with her and that when he left, her cellphone was missing. The investigation will continue.


Criminal trespass — A male complainant reported on Sept. 30 that while he was away, someone entered his residence without permission and threw things around. The investigation is ongoing.


Public intoxication — Officers responded on Oct. 1 to the call of an intoxicated person in the 5000 block of U.S. Highway 75 South. The male suspect was arrested for public intoxication.


Suspicious behavior — An officer on patrol on Oct. 1 observed a male suspect looking inside a vehicle in the 1000 block of West Hanna, that had a door open. The suspect was arrested for possession of a controlled substance.


Hit and run — An officer responded on Oct. 1 to a female complainant in the 1600 block of Lyndana. She stated that a silver car drove past a stop sign and struck her vehicle. No one was injured.


Motor vehicle accident — Officers were dispatched on Oct. 1 to a motor vehicle accident in the 1000 block of North Mirick. A male suspect was arrested for driving while intoxicated, striking an unattended vehicle, driving while license invalid, and outstanding city of Denison warrants. A female suspect was arrested for permitting an unauthorized person to drive.
