Burglary of a vehicle — An officer spoke with three individuals on Sept. 24 in the 400 block of West Dexter Street. All three stated that their vehicles had been broken into during the night. There was nothing to indicate that forced entry had been made in any of the vehicles. A report for burglary of a vehicle was filed.


Public intoxication — Dispatch received a call on Sept. 24 reporting an intoxicated male in the 1800 block of North Travis Street. Officers were dispatched, and they located the suspect. From their investigation, officers determined that the suspect was intoxicated, and was a threat to himself and others.


Assault — Officers were dispatched on Sept. 23 to the 800 block of East Patricia Drive in response to a disturbance. During their investigation, a female suspect was arrested for assault causing bodily injury to a family member.


Burglary — Officers responded on Sept. 23 to a female complainant in the 600 block of South Gordon Street. She stated that her son’s bicycle had been stolen and that a wallet had been taken from her vehicle. An investigation was conducted, and reports were filed for theft of property from $100-$750 and burglary of a vehicle.


Harassment — An officer was dispatched on Sept. 23 to a report of harassment in the 300 block of South Travis Street. Upon investigation, it was determined that a suspect had sent multiple text messages to the victim. A report was taken, and the case is under investigation.


Burglary — Dispatch received a call on Sept. 24 reporting the burglary of a vehicle in the 1500 block of North Woods Street. An officer arrived on scene and learned that personal items had been stolen from the vehicle. A report for burglary of a vehicle was generated.


Found property — Sherman Police located a piece of jewelry on Sept. 24 that was found in the 300 block of South Travis Street. A report for found property was completed.


Burglary of a habitation — An officer was dispatched on Sept. 24 to a residence in the 200 block of Robert’s Run in reference to a burglary. The investigation revealed that a suspect had forced entry into the residence and attempted to remove an appliance, causing damage to the floor and appliance. A report for burglary of a habitation was completed.


Found property — Officers responded on Sept. 24 to a call from the 300 block of Travis Street in reference to found property. The reporting party found a cellphone in the backyard while playing soccer. A report for found property was generated.


Aggravated assault — Dispatch received a call on Sept. 24 about a fight in progress in the 100 block of South Burdette Avenue. Upon officer arrival, seven individuals were located in the area. An investigation revealed that while a suspect and victim were fighting, the suspect hit the victim in the head with a glass bottle. The victim suffered a laceration on top of the head. The suspect was arrested for aggravated assault with a deadly weapon.
