Burglary — Officers were dispatched on Sept. 19 to the 900 block of East Wells Street in response to a man waving a gun. Their investigation revealed that suspects forced entry into a residence and committed an assault. A report was generated for burglary of a habitation intending other felony. The investigation is ongoing.
Theft — The public safety administrator met with a male complainant on Sept. 19 in the lobby of police headquarters. The complainant stated that a firearm was stolen from his vehicle in the 1700 block of East Pecan Grove. A report for theft of a firearm was filed.
Theft — Dispatch received a call on Sept. 19 from a business in the 400 block of East U.S. Highway 82 in reporting a theft. The business had two females detained for the theft. Upon officers’ arrival, the females were arrested for theft of property from $100-$750.
Unauthorized use of vehicle — A victim entered police headquarters on Sept.19 and reported the theft of his vehicle from the 2000 block of East Lamar Street. He stated that he allowed a suspect to borrow his motorcycle for a short period of time, and the motorcycle was not returned. The vehicle was entered into the NCIC as stolen, and a report for unauthorized use of a vehicle was filed.
Driving while intoxicated — Dispatch received a call on Sept. 19 in reference to an intoxicated driver driving eastbound into Sherman on U.S. Highway 82. The female driver was located in the drive-thru of a business in the 3600 block of North U.S. Highway 75. She consented to a field sobriety test, which revealed that she was intoxicated. She was arrested for driving while intoxicated third offense or more.
Assault — Officers were dispatched on Sept. 20 to a disturbance in the 2600 block of North Hickory Street. Upon arrival, they found a female victim had been assaulted. A male suspect was arrested for assault causing bodily injury to a family member and possession of marijuana less than two ounces.
Theft — An officer was working an off duty job on Sept. 16 in the 400 block of North Rusk Street. A female reported leaving her vehicle keys laying on a table, and forgot them. When she went back to get them, they were gone. The keys have not been turned in. A report for theft less than $100 was turned in.
Found property — An officer was dispatched on Sept. 20 to the 300 block of South Travis in reference to found property. Upon investigation, the found property was recovered from an area near Binkley Park. A report was taken, and the case is under investigation.
Theft of a firearm — Officers responded on Sept. 20 to a male complainant in the 2800 block of Rex Cruse Drive. He stated that his vehicle was broken into and that approximately $860 worth of property was stolen. A report was generated and the investigation is ongoing.
Assault by threat — Dispatch received a call on Sept. 20 in reference to a disturbance in the 2800 block of South Travis Street. A male and a female had a verbal altercation which led to the male threatening the female. A report for assault by threat was generated.
Assault — An officer responded on Sept. 20 to a female complainant the 600 block of South Rusk Street. She reported that she was punched in the face by her boyfriend during an argument. She stated that she felt pain from the assault and had visible injuries consistent with her claim. A report for assault causing bodily injury to a family member was filed.
Found property — An officer was dispatched on Sept. 21 to the 1800 block of West Washington Street in reference to found property. Upon investigation, the found property was located in the parking lot of the west side of the property. The found property was collected, and a report was completed. The case is under investigation.
Theft — Loss prevention officers detained a male suspect on Sept. 21 in the 400 block of East U.S. Highway 82 for shoplifting. The suspect was arrested and transported to the Grayson County Jail.
Assault — Officers responded on Sept. 21 to a female complainant in the 600 block of East Taylor Street. She stated that she had been assaulted. After interviewing the victim, the officers determined that an assault had occurred. They filed a report for assault by contact family violence.
Fraud — An officer spoke on Sept. 21 with a male victim of fraud. The victim stated that his ex-girlfriend had obtained services from a utility company by using his information. He added that he did not give her permission to open the account with his information. The suspect was spoken with, and her story conflicted with the victim’s statements.
Delivery of a controlled substance — An officer conducted a traffic stop on Sept. 22 in the 200 block of South Loving Avenue. A search of the vehicle revealed approximately one ounce of methamphetamine and drug selling equipment. A male suspect and a female suspect were arrested and transported to the Grayson County Jail.
Theft — Officers were dispatched on Sept. 22 to a business in the 2200 block of Texoma Parkway in reference to theft. The reporting party stated that two suspects entered the store on multiple occasions and stole under $100 worth of property. A report for theft of property less than $100 was generated. The suspects were later located and statements were obtained. The report was sent for prosecution.
Theft — Officers were dispatched on Sept. 22 to the 300 block of East Highway 82 in reference to a theft. A report was taken for theft of property from $100-$750.
Criminal mischief — A male suspect fled an officer who was attempting to legally detain him on Sept. 23. The suspect was found later, and he refused to give his name. He was arrested for evading and for failure to identify. The suspect actively resisted while being arrested and refused to get into the patrol car. He pulled a wire out of the automatic license plate reader, and will also be charged with criminal mischief.
Possession — An officer located a vehicle on Sept. 23 in the 2500 block of West Center Street. The driver had a small amount of marijuana in his vehicle. A report for possession of marijuana less than two ounces was generated.
Criminal mischief — An officer was dispatched on Sept. 23 to the 3600 block of Calais Street in response to a report of criminal mischief. An investigation revealed that a suspect had slashed tires on a vehicle. A report was taken, and the case is under investigation.
