Sherman Police


Reckless damage or destruction — An officer was dispatched on Sept. 16 to the 1800 block of Washington Street. A suspect drove through a fence and left the scene. A report for reckless damage and destruction was filed.


Criminal trespass — Officers spoke with a man on Sept. 15 who had been sleeping in the 1800 block of Texoma Parkway. The suspect had walked across the street onto a property where he was criminally trespassing. The suspect was arrested for criminal trespass and possession of a controlled substance less than one gram.


Found property — An officer was dispatched on Sept. 15 to the 100 block of South Crockett Street in reference to a purse that had been found. The officer was unable to find any identifying information to assist in locating the owner. The purse was logged into evidence as found property.


Burglary of a habitation — An officer responded on Sept. 15 to a man in the 900 block of South Walnut Street. He stated that while he was at work, someone entered his residence and took electronic items. A report for burglary of a habitation was generated.


Burglary of a vehicle — An officer was dispatched on Sept. 15 to the 600 block of Regency Drive in reference to a burglary. Upon arrival, the officer spoke with a man who was carrying a bag and who matched the suspect description. The suspect had property on his person from a vehicle that had been burglarized. He also had ID cards that did not belong to him. The suspect was arrested for burglary of a vehicle and fraudulent use of identifying information.


Found property — Officers responded on Sept. 15 to a disturbance in the 2000 block of West Taylor Street. The subjects were not located, but a wallet was found at the scene. The wallet was taken to the Sherman Police Department for safekeeping, and a report for found property was filed.


Driving while license invalid — An officer was dispatched on Sept. 16 to a vehicle crash in the 4100 block of Town Center Drive. During the investigation, it was determined that one of the drivers had a suspended license with multiple prior convictions. A report for driving while license invalid with previous convictions will be filed for issuance of a warrant.


Burglary of a vehicle — An officer responded on Sept. 16 to a woman in the 900 block of South Travis Street who said two suspects entered her unlocked vehicle and took her wallet and a diaper bag. A report for burglary of a vehicle was generated.


Credit card or debit card abuse — A woman entered police headquarters on Sept. 16 to report the unauthorized use of her debit card. Multiple unauthorized charges were made using a debit card stolen from the victim’s wallet. A report was made for credit card or debit card abuse and the investigation is ongoing.


Forgery — An officer was dispatched on Sept. 16 to a convenience store in the 3100 block of North U.S. Highway 75. It was reported that the clerk had received a counterfeit $100 bill. A report was filed for forgery government/national institution/money/security.


Driving while license invalid — A traffic stop was conducted on Sept. 16 in the 1300 block of West Houston Street. It was learned that the driver was driving with a suspended driver’s license and that the vehicle was not insured. The driver was arrested for driving while license was suspended with previous convictions and showing no financial responsibility.


Criminal mischief — Dispatch received a call on Sept. 17 from a woman in the 300 block of North Heritage Parkway. She stated that her vehicle had been damaged sometime during the day. A report for criminal mischief less than $100 was filed.


Driving while intoxicated — A traffic stop was conducted on Sept. 17 in the 2500 block of North Travis Street. An investigation revealed that the man driving was doing so while intoxicated, and he was placed under arrest.


Denison Police


Traffic stop — A vehicle was stopped on Sept. 12 for a traffic violation in the 700 block of West Sears. The man driving was arrested for driving while license suspended/enhanced.


Traffic stop — A vehicle was stopped on Sept. 12 for a traffic violation at the intersection of Gandy and Sixth streets. The man driving was arrested for having no operator’s license and outstanding city warrants.


Traffic stop — An officer stopped a vehicle on Sept. 18 for a traffic violation in the 800 block of East Main. The driver was arrested for possession of marijuana less than 2 ounces and possession of drug paraphernalia.


Assault — An officer responded on Sept. 18 to a man in Frank Circle who stated that he went to his rental property to collect rent and repair a toilet, and the resident became belligerent and aggressive and pushed him multiple times. The case has been referred to municipal court.


Criminal mischief — A complainant reported on Sept. 18 that a suspect forced open a door on a van in the 2100 block of South Mirick and damaged the ignition.
