Sherman Police

Fraud — An adult female reported to the Huntsville, Alabama Police Department on Aug. 17 that an adult male fraudulently utilized her identifying information to initiate telephone service. It was determined the suspect initiated telephone service at a residence located at the 500 block of South Rusk in Sherman. An investigation was initiated and a report was completed for fraudulent use or possession of identifying information under five items. The investigation is ongoing.

Aggravated assault — An officer was dispatched on Sept. 6 to a reported aggravated assault in the 1500 block of Texoma Parkway. A male claimed another male threatened him with a sword. A report was generated for aggravated assault with deadly weapon.

Burglary — A Sherman police officer was dispatched on Sept. 6 to the 300 block of South Travis Street in reference to a burglary or residence report. Upon investigation, it was determined that the suspect stole property from the victim’s residence. A report was taken and the case is under investigation.

Assault — An officer was dispatched on Sept. 6 to the 1400 block of South Elm Street in reference to an assault. The victim advised she was arguing with her boyfriend and he slapped her in the face during the argument. The victim did not have any visible injuries, but was offended by the assault. A report was generated for assault by contact to a family member.

Assault — Sherman Police dispatch received a 911 hang-up call on Sept. 6 from the 2300 block of West Pecan Grove Road. Police arrived and conducted an investigation which lead to a report being generated for assault by contact to a family member.

Theft — Officers were dispatched on Sept. 7 to the Sherman Police Department in reference to a theft. The victim said he was shopping in the 400 block of East US Highway 82 on Sept. 5 when his wallet was stolen from inside of the store. A report for theft of property between $100 and $750 was taken for the incident. As of this time, the investigation is ongoing.

Found property — Sherman Police dispatch received a call on Sept. 7 for service in the 100 block of North Carr Avenue regarding a pipe found in their trash. The property was collected and submitted into evidence for destruction. A found property report was completed.

Found property — Sherman dispatch received a call on Sept. 7 in reference to a bicycle being placed in a ditch in the 500 block of North Lee Street. An officer located the bicycle and was unable to locate the owner. It is a small bicycle spray painted a solid color. The bicycle was placed at Sherman Police Department for safekeeping and can be released to the owner.
