Sherman Police


Assault — An officer responded on Sept. 2 to a female complainant in the 900 block of South Lee. She stated that her son pushed her and caused her to cut her hand. The suspect admitted to the assault, and there were visible injuries to the victim. The suspect was arrested for assault causing bodily injury to a family member.


Criminal mischief — Dispatch received a call on Sept. 1 in reference to criminal mischief in the 300 block of Archer Drive. Upon officer arrival, a broken window was observed. A report for criminal mischief was filed.


Assault — An officer responded on Sept. 1 to a female complainant in the 1800 block of Texoma Parkway. She stated that her husband choked her during an argument. She added that she was unable to breathe while being choked, and she had a slight discoloration on her neck. The suspect admitted to choking the victim. He was arrested for assault to a family/household member impeding breath/circulation.


Found property — An officer was dispatched on Sept. 1 in reference to found property in the 600 block of North Wharton Street. The reporting party found property while walking a dog. The property was turned in and a report was filed.


Reckless damage — Contact was made on Sept. 1 with a male complainant in the 3600 block of South Highway 75. He stated a suspect sat on the hood of his vehicle and caused damage. A report for reckless damage was filed.


Theft — A male victim reported on Sept. 1 that his musical instrument was stolen from the 1700 block of East Gallagher. A report for theft was filed.


Theft — Contact was made on Sept. 1 with a female complainant in the 500 block of South Walnut Street. She stated that a female suspect stole $400 from her purse. A report for theft was generated.


Forgery — A female complainant entered police headquarters on Sept. 1 in reference to a forged check. She reported that a suspect attempted to cash a check belonging to her at a bank in the 400 block of East Taylor Street. A report for forgery of a financial instrument elderly was generated.


Theft — Dispatch received a call on Sept. 2 to report a stolen dirt bike in the 1600 block of North Hoard. Sometime during the night, the bike was taken from a carport. A report for theft was completed.


Burglary — An officer responded on Sept. 2 to a male complainant in the 1100 block of West Houston Street. He stated that items were taken during the night from a vehicle parked at his residence. A report for burglary of a vehicle was filed.


Theft — An officer was dispatched on Sept. 2 to a residence in the 1600 block of Montgomery Street. The complainant stated that a suspect had removed a lawnmower and weedeater from the porch of his residence. A report for theft from $100-$750 was generated.


Possession — Officers made consensual contact on Sept. 3 with occupants in a vehicle in the 1000 block of West College Street. While speaking with the occupants, the officers could smell the odor of marijuana. A search of the vehicle revealed a usable amount of marijuana. A male suspect was arrested for possession of marijuana less than two ounces.


Assault — Officers were dispatched on Sept. 3 to a disturbance in the 300 block of South Heritage Parkway. Upon arrival, they determined that a male suspect had assaulted his wife. The suspect was arrested, and a report for assault was filed.


Found property — An officer received a debit card from a reporting party in the 300 block of East College Street on Sept. 3. The individual stated that the card had been found in the roadway. An attempt to contact the owner of the card was unsuccessful, and a report for found property was completed.


Assault — Officers responded on Sept. 3 to a female complainant in the 900 block of East Wells. She stated that her boyfriend had assaulted her and then left when she called 911. A report for assault/family violence/impeding breath was generated.


Assault — Officers were dispatched on Sept. 3 to the 1500 block of Texoma Parkway in reference to an assault. They spoke with the victim who stated that her ex-boyfriend had assaulted her while she was working. A report for assault causing bodily injury to a family member was filed.


Theft — Officers responded on Sept. 4 to a female complainant the 5600 block of Texoma Parkway. She stated that her daughter had taken her vehicle without her consent. During the investigation, a male victim stated that his wallet had been stolen. A report for theft and unauthorized use of a motor vehicle was completed.


Criminal mischief — Dispatch received a call on Sept. 4 from a female resident in the 1500 block of North Ross. The reporting party stated that a suspect had broken the back glass on her car. A report for criminal mischief from $100-$750 was filed.


Criminal mischief — Officers were dispatched on Sept. 4 to the 400 block of South Dewey in reference to criminal mischief. Upon arrival, they learned that the tires on multiple vehicles had been slashed the night before. A report for criminal mischief from $750-$2,500 was filed.


Burglary — An officer responded on Sept. 5 to a female complainant in the 800 block of West Freeman Street. She stated that her ex-husband, who does not live with her, kicked in the front door of her residence and assaulted her. A report for burglary of a habitation with intent of other felony was reported.
