The Sherman Police Department issued a new arrest warrant Wednesday for the third suspect involved in the death of a Sherman hotel clerk last month.

Sgt. D.M. Hampton announced the warrant for Reginald Vernard Campbell Jr., 26, on a charge of capital murder in a text message Wednesday. Campbell is wanted for his alleged role in the Aug. 11 killing of Brandon Hubert, 32, who worked as a clerk at the Quality Suites hotel off U.S. Highway 75 in Sherman. The Sherman Police Department has also arrested Karalyn Marie Cross, 19, and Nikeya Marquice Grant, 24, on charges of capital murder in Hubert’s death. The department said Hubert was killed during an apparent robbery of the hotel.

Sherman Police were dispatched to the Quality Suites shortly after 5 a.m. on Aug. 11 after receiving a report that an unresponsive man was found in the hotel. In the following days, the department released few details on the investigation but did circulate photos on social media of a woman who was wanted for questioning in connection with the case. Hampton said the woman in the photo turned out to be Cross and the break led to the identification of Grant and Campbell as suspects.

Hampton said Campbell’s whereabouts is unknown, but authorities believe he may have recently been in South Carolina. In connection with the case, the ATF previously issued three federal warrants against Campbell for robbery, possession of a firearm in the commission of a violent crime and unlawful flight to avoid prosecution. It was unclear whether the federal warrants against Campbell remain active.

The Sherman Police Department is offering a $1,000 reward for information leading to Campbell’s arrest. Anyone with information regarding Campbell’s location or the case is encouraged to call Detective Hughes at 903-892-7374 or the Sherman Police Department nonemergency phone line at 903-892-7290.
