Denison Police


City ordinance violation — An officer observed a male suspect on Sept. 3 riding a skateboard in the roadway. The suspect was arrested for use of skateboard on the roadway.


Public intoxication — Officers were dispatched on Sept. 2 to the 100 block of Bob White in response to the call of a suspicious person. Upon arrival, they arrested a male suspect for public intoxication.


Assault — An officer was dispatched on Sept. 2 to the 500 block of East Day in response to the report of an assault and an attempted assault. The complainant stated that a suspect threatened him and then attempted to assault him, which caused medical problems for the victim. The suspect then assaulted another family member who was trying to protect the original victim. The suspect fled the scene after learning that 911 had been called. A case will be forwarded to the Grayson County District Attorney’s office.


Theft — A male complainant stated on Sept. 2 that he is missing some cash and a firearm from the 400 block of West Acheson. He named a possible suspect, and the investigation will continue.


Intoxicated person — Officers responded on Sept. 3 to the report of an intoxicated person in the 1200 block of Oak Drive. They located the suspect who was then arrested for public intoxication.


Public intoxication — Officers were dispatched on Sept. 3 to the 4600 block of U.S. Highway 75 in reference to a report of a welfare concern. The male suspect was located and arrested for public intoxication.


Disturbance — Officers responded on Sept. 3 to a disturbance call in the 800 block of West Texas. A female suspect was arrested for outstanding Grayson County warrants and for failure to identify/fugitive from justice.


Terroristic threat — An officer responded on Sept. 3 to a female complainant in the 100 block of East Hull. She stated that she was standing near her front door when a man she knows made threats to harm her. The investigation will continue.


Welfare concern — Officers were dispatched on Sept. 3 to the intersection of Walker and Mirick in response to a report of a welfare concern. Upon arrival, they located a female sitting on the curb. She was arrested for an outstanding city of Denison warrant. After being placed in jail, the suspect damaged a light fixture and was charged with criminal mischief.


Traffic stop — An officer observed a male bicyclist riding on Sept. 3 with no white headlight. The suspect was arrested for no white light on bicycle.


Theft — Officers responded on Sept. 4 to a male complainant in the 200 block of Mauk Circle. He stated that he loaned his vehicle to a friend. The friend gave a ride in the vehicle to someone else, and after that, property was missing from the vehicle. The investigation is ongoing.
