Sherman Police


Burglary — An officer responded on Sept. 1 to a male complainant in the 600 block of South Montgomery Street. He stated that a male suspect entered his residence without consent, and while inside, assaulted him. The suspect left prior to officer arrival. The victim had visible injuries that were consistent with his claims. A report for burglary of a habitation was filed.


Death investigation — Officers and EMS were dispatched on Aug. 31 to the 1600 block of East Pecan Grove in reference to a death investigation. An unresponsive male was found to be in the residence. Justice of the peace arrived and stated that the cause of death was natural causes. A report was generated for a death investigation.


Burglary — An officer was dispatched on Aug. 31 in reference to a burglary report. Upon investigation, it was determined a suspect had stolen items from a company vehicle. A report was taken, and the case is under investigation.


Theft — A male complainant reported on Aug. 31 a theft in the 900 block of Valentine Street. He stated that a suspect took property from his vehicle parked in the driveway of his residence. A report for theft was filed.


Assault — An officer was dispatched on Aug. 31 to the 4800 block of Timberview Drive in reference to a fight in progress. Upon arrival, the officer spoke with all involved parties and discovered that an assault by contact had occurred. A report was generated.


Assault — Sherman Police responded on Aug. 31 to a complaint of assault in the 800 block of South Throckmorton Street. Upon officer arrival, an investigation was conducted and a report was filed for assault causing bodily injury to a family member.


Found property — An officer spoke to a reporting party on Aug. 31 at police headquarters in reference to found property. A bank card had been found in the 400 block of West Wilson Avenue and was turned in. A report for found property was generated.


Assault — An officer was dispatched on Sept. 1 to the 1800 block of Texoma Parkway in reference to an assault. The victim reported being choked by her husband during an argument. She said she was unable to breathe while being choked and had slight discoloration to her neck. The suspect admitted to choking the victim and was arrested for assault on a family/house member impeding breath/circulation.
