Possession — Officers were dispatched on Aug. 26 to the 3500 block of Ransom Circle in reference to a person being passed out in a vehicle. The suspect was arrested for two counts of possession of a controlled substance.
Driving with no license — An officer stopped a vehicle on Aug. 25 in the 200 block of West Woodard. The driver did not have a driver’s license and was arrested for driving without a license.
Assault — An officer responded on Aug. 26 to a female complainant in the 400 block of East Day. She stated that she and her boyfriend got into an argument and that he struck her in the face. Officers attempted to make contact with the suspect at his residence but were unable to do so. A case will be forwarded to the Grayson County Attorney’s office.
Violation of warrants — While on a call on Aug. 26 in the 1900 block of South Mirick an officer observed another vehicle arrive near him, with two people exiting the vehicle. For safety purposes, the officer spoke to the two individuals and found that one had several outstanding city of Denison warrants and one parole violation warrant. The suspect was arrested for the warrants.
Driving while intoxicated — An officer conducted a traffic stop on Aug. 27 at U.S. Highway 75 and Loy Lake Road. The driver was arrested for driving while intoxicated and open container.
Assault — An officer responded on Aug. 27 to a male complainant on Loy Lake Drive. He stated that he and his wife got into an argument and that she assaulted him and called him names. The female suspect was arrested for assault causing bodily injury/family violence.
Violation of a protective order — Dispatch received a call on Aug. 29 from a female complainant in the 900 block of West Baker. She stated that her ex had been sending her text messages, in violation of an emergency protective order against him. The investigation will continue.
Intoxicated person — Officers were dispatched on Aug. 29 to a report of an intoxicated person in the 5000 block of U.S. Highway 75. A male suspect was arrested for public intoxication.
Theft/violation of warrants — An officer made a traffic stop on Aug. 29 in the 1500 block of West Morton. The vehicle was reported as having been stolen from Sherman. A female suspect was arrested for an outstanding city of Denison warrant, theft over $2,500, fraudulent use of identifying information and stealing/receiving stolen checks. A male suspect was arrested for an outstanding Fannin County warrant, failure to identify/fugitive from justice, theft over $2,500, fraudulent use of identifying information and stealing/receiving stolen checks.
Public intoxication — Officers responded on Aug. 29 to a report of a suspicious person in the 3700 block of North State Highway 91. A female suspect was arrested for public intoxication and possession of drug paraphernalia. A male suspect was arrested for public intoxication.
Theft — Dispatch received a call on Aug. 28 from a reporting party in the 700 block of West College Street. He said he had gone out of state for a few days, and when he returned, his vehicle was missing from the driveway of his residence. A report for theft from $2,500 to $30,000 was filed.
Burglary — An officer responded on Aug. 28 to a female complainant in the 1700 block of South Heritage Parkway. She said a suspect took property from her unlocked vehicle. A report for burglary of a vehicle was generated.
Burglary — A reporting party in the 100 block of South Woods Street told an officer on Aug. 28 that he had found a wallet and other items. The female owner of the property was contacted, and she stated that the property, and other items, had been stolen from her vehicle in the 900 block of West Houston Street. A report for burglary of a vehicle was filed.
Criminal mischief — Officers responded on Aug. 28 to a female reporting party in police headquarters. She said someone attempted to burglarize her vehicle in the 700 block of North McKown Street by prying a door open. The officers observed significant damage to the vehicle. A report for criminal mischief from $750 to $2,500 was generated.
Criminal trespass — Officers were approached on Aug. 28 by an employee about a male panhandling at the business in the 1600 block of Texoma Parkway. The suspect was located in the parking lot of a business in the area. He had been issued a previous criminal trespass warning for the business and was not allowed on the property. The suspect was arrested for criminal trespass.
Assault — An officer responded on Aug. 29 to a report of an assault in the 1600 block of Oakhill Drive. An investigation revealed that two subjects assaulted each other at different locations. One subject was assaulted on Oakhill Drive, and the other was assaulted in the 2900 block of U.S. Highway 75. The subjects are family members, and both were arrested for assault on a family member.
Criminal mischief — An officer responded on Aug. 29 to a rental property in the 600 block of South Montgomery Street in reference to the tenant causing damage to the property. A report for criminal mischief from $2,500 to $30,000 was filed.
Assault — An officer responded on Aug. 29 to a male complainant in the 2100 block of Monte Cristo Drive. He stated that his common law spouse pushed him a few times. The suspect was identified, and she showed to have a previous conviction for family violence. A report for assault on a family/household member with previous convictions was generated.
Burglary — An officer made contact on Aug. 29 with a female reporting party in the 5600 block of Texoma Parkway. She said sometime during the night a suspect burglarized her vehicle. A report for burglary of a vehicle was filed.
Harassment — An officer took a report on Aug. 29 of harassment from a complainant in the 3000 block of Sherbrooke Place. The investigation is ongoing.
Assault — Officers were dispatched on Aug. 29 to the 700 block of East Taylor Street in reference to an assault. Upon their arrival, the victim and suspect were located. The victim had a half-inch cut above his left eye and another small cut on his right arm, and he stated that the suspect hit him in the head with a brick. The suspect was arrested for assault with a deadly weapon.
Possession — Officers conducted a traffic stop on Aug. 30 in the 200 block of North Sam Rayburn. During the traffic stop, they smelled the odor of marijuana and located marijuana on the driver. The driver also had warrants out from the Sherman Police Department. He was arrested for possession of marijuana less than 2 ounces and for the warrants.
