Assault — Dispatch received a report on Aug. 18 of an assault at the intersection of Flora Lane and Jennie Lane. The complainant stated that he was cut off in traffic by a suspect who then followed his vehicle closely. The complainant stopped and a physical altercation ensued with the suspect striking the complainant several times and choking him. The suspect then fled in a white Dodge Durango. A report for aggravated assault/endangering a child was submitted. The investigation is ongoing.


Assault — An officer responded on Aug. 18 to a female complainant in the 1100 block of South 7th. She stated that a relative assaulted her child and made additional threats to the victim and other persons in the room. A report for assault causing bodily injury/family violence/terroristic threat/injury to a child/obstruction/retaliation was submitted.


Criminal mischief — Dispatch received a call on Aug. 18 from a male complainant in the 1800 block of Ivey Drive. He stated that a suspect knocked over his mailbox with his vehicle. A report for criminal mischief was filed.


Disorderly conduct — An officer responded on Aug. 18 to a call from the 4900 block of Texoma Parkway complaining of harassment. The victim reported threats and harassment coming from a female suspect. The suspect was arrested for disorderly conduct and littering.


Possession — Officers responded on Aug. 19 to the report of a suspicious person in the 2700 block of West Crawford. A male suspect was arrested for possession of drug paraphernalia.


Assault — An officer was dispatched on Aug. 19 to the 100 block of West Murray in reference to a complaint of assault. The complainant reported observing a male suspect, known to him, burglarizing his vehicle. The two got into a physical altercation. The suspect ran down the street, got into a vehicle, and drove by the complainant’s residence two or three times. The complainant got into his vehicle and chased the suspect. Each party stated that the other person rammed his vehicle. The investigation is ongoing.


Assault — An officer responded on Aug. 20 to a female complainant in the 500 block of Martin Luther King. She reported that she and her boyfriend were drinking and that he became aggressive. She stated that he assaulted her by hitting her on the top of her head. A report for assault was generated, and the case has been referred to municipal court.


Disturbance — Officers were dispatched on Aug. 20 to the 700 block of West Jefferson. A male suspect was arrested for public intoxication and fraudulent use/possession of identifying information.


Terroristic threat — An officer responded on Aug. 21 to a female complainant in the 3000 block of Frances. She stated that she and other family members were threatened by a 15 year-old juvenile. The suspect was arrested for terroristic threats/family/household.


Failure to identify — An officer stopped a vehicle on Aug. 21 for a traffic violation in the 700 block of West Johnson. The female driver was arrested for failure to identify/giving false/fictitious information.


Theft — An officer responded on Aug. 21 to a female suspect in the 400 block of South Lillis. She stated that her son rode his bicycle to school and secured it. She had to pick up her son at school because he was ill. When they returned later for the bicycle, it was gone. It is a Mongoose bicycle described as black in color with neon green writing on it. The investigation is continuing.


Theft — Dispatch received a report of a scam in the 300 block of East Shepherd on Aug. 21. The victim stated that he paid $600 to purchase an animal online. After sending the money, the seller would not sell the animal unless the victim paid another $500 to ensure the animal had a safe flight. The investigation will continue.


Sherman Police


Theft — Officers were dispatched on Aug. 20 to the 1700 block of North Highland Avenue in reference to a theft. They conducted an investigation and filed a report for theft of property from $100 -$750.


Burglary — An officer responded on Aug. 21 to a possible theft in the 1500 block of Crescent Drive. It was reported that the glass in a vehicle at that location was shattered and entry had been made into the vehicle. A report for burglary of a vehicle was generated.


Possession — Officers observed on Aug. 21 a male, known to them, walking at the intersection of West Staples and Rusk Streets. He was walking on the wrong side of the roadway and was not facing traffic. He was placed under arrest, and during the search that followed, was found to be in possession of marijuana. He was arrested and taken to the Grayson County Jail.


Criminal mischief — An officer was dispatched on Aug. 21 in response to a complaint from the 1500 block of Crescent Drive. The complainant stated that a suspect cut into the convertible top on his vehicle in order to enter into the vehicle. A report for criminal mischief over $2,500 was filed.


Found property — Dispatch received a call on Aug. 21 from a female located in the 1600 block of West Shields Drive. She stated that she had found a blue gym bag not belonging to her outside her residence. Officers were dispatched to the scene, and they secured the property. A report for found property was generated.


Burglary — Officers responded on Aug. 21 to a male complainant in the 600 block of East Jones Street. He stated that a suspect entered his home and took $2,000 in miscellaneous coins and bills and a .380 caliber handgun. A report for burglary of a habitation was submitted.
