Sherman Police


Assault — An officer responded on Aug. 18 to a female complainant in the 1800 block of East Alma Street. She stated that she had been assaulted by her husband two days prior. She was assaulted multiple times and injured. A report was filed for assault causing bodily injury family violence. The investigation is ongoing.


Burglary — An officer was dispatched on Aug. 18 to the 900 block of North Throckmorton Street in reference to a burglary. It was reported that a suspect had stolen construction tools and other items. A report for burglary of a habitation was filed.


Theft — Dispatch received a call on Aug. 18 in reference to a trailer that was stolen in the 500 block of East Peyton Street. The victim stated the trailer was worth $1,400. A report for theft of property from $750-$2,500 was generated.


Theft — An officer responded on Aug. 18 to a male complainant in the 3400 block of U.S. Highway 75. He stated that a suspect stole an electronic control module from his vehicle. A report was generated for theft. The case is under investigation.


Theft — An officer made telephone contact on Aug. 18 with a female complainant in the 1700 block of Texoma Parkway. She stated that a suspect removed property from her wallet. A report for theft was generated.


Possession — An officer initiated a traffic stop on Aug. 18 in the 600 block of North Montgomery Street for an expired registration. Upon making contact with the occupants, a strong odor of marijuana coming from the vehicle was detected. The driver admitted to having less that two ounces of marijuana on his person. He was arrested for possession of marijuana less than two ounces.


Burglary — Dispatch received a call on Aug. 18 in reference to a theft in the 1800 block of Texoma Parkway. Upon officer arrival, it was determined that a suspect had entered a residence through the front door, which was open, and had stolen a laptop computer. A report for burglary of a habitation was filed.


Criminal mischief — Officers responded on Aug. 19 to a female complainant in the 1000 block of Idlewild Drive. She stated that a suspect set off a smoke bomb on her front porch sometime during the night. A report for criminal mischief was generated.


Assault — An officer was dispatched to the 400 block of North Colbert Street on Aug. 19 in response to a disturbance. The female victim stated that she was beaten up, with property stolen from her, during an argument. An investigation revealed that no property had been stolen, but that an assault had occurred. A report was filed for assault causing bodily injury.


Criminal mischief — Dispatch received a call on Aug. 20 from a resident in the 1300 block of South Walnut Street. The caller reported that a suspect had shot his truck several times with what may have been a BB gun. He stated that a window was broken out and there were dents and paint chips along his truck. A second victim at the residence had small dents and paint chips along his truck similar to those reported on the first one. A report for criminal mischief from $2,500-$30,000 was filed.


Public intoxication — Officers were dispatched on Aug. 20 to the 800 block of Heritage Parkway in reference to an unresponsive male. Once the officers were able to interview the suspect, he could not not recall his location of how he arrived home. The suspect emitted a strong odor of alcohol and was arrested for public intoxication.


Criminal mischief — An officer responded to the area around 1400 South Travis Street and 1100 S. Montgomery Street, where several vehicles had windows damaged during the night. A report for criminal mischief from $100-$750 was completed.


Graffiti — An officer responded on Aug. 20 to a female complainant in the 500 block of South Rusk Street. She stated that someone sprayed painted her vehicle during the night. A report for graffiti pecuniary loss from $100-$750 was generated.


Driving with invalid license — Officers conducted a traffic stop on Aug. 20 in the 600 block of East Lamar Street. The female driver did not have insurance on the vehicle and her license was suspended. She also had previous convictions for driving while license invalid and was arrested for driving while license invalid with previous convictions.
