A Sherman man was arrested for driving while intoxicated after he struck the vehicle in front of him while in the drive-thru line Wednesday night.

At about 9:15 p.m., a Sherman officer responded to a call of a possible intoxicated driver at the combination KFC and Taco Bell at 4214 N. U.S. Highway 75. The Sherman Police report stated the caller told police her vehicle was rear-ended while in the drive-thru line.

Sherman Police Sgt. D.M. Hampton said the vehicle was not greatly damaged and no one was injured, but the caller suspected the driver was intoxicated. Police talked with the male driver, and the report stated he displayed several indicators of possible intoxication, and he admitted to drinking before he got behind the wheel.

The 50-year-old man was arrested for driving while intoxicated, and he was booked into the Grayson County Jail. He was released the next day on a $2,500 bond.
