The Sherman Police Department is asking for the public’s help in identifying a woman described as a person of interest in the death of Sherman hotel employee who was killed in a robbery early Friday morning.
Sherman Police released the photographs of the woman Friday night on social media, and, though the department said she is not the person responsible for the death of 32-year-old Brandon Hubert of Denison. Anyone who recognizes the woman is encouraged to call Detective Brandon Hughes at 903-892-7374 or Sherman Dispatch at 903-892-7290. The department said it may be possible that the woman and at least one other suspect are from the Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex.
“There may be people out there who have information about this crime, and if they do, they need to contact the Sherman Police Department,” Sherman Police Sgt. D.M. Hampton said Friday.
At approximately 6 a.m. Friday, Sherman Police responded to the Quality Suites at 2900 N. U.S. Highway 75 on a call of an unresponsive man at the front desk. Hubert was transported to Wilson N. Jones Regional Medical Center where he was pronounced dead.
Hampton said Hubert was killed during a reported robbery. Police have not released further details on how the man died. Crime scene tape was placed around the front entrance of the hotel, and several officers and police vehicles were at the scene throughout the morning.
Hampton said the hotel was closed down, and police spent much of the day identifying all the hotel’s guests and determining which of the registered guests were present during the time of the murder. The department has not released any information as to what was taken during the robbery.
Hampton said Saturday the department has no further updates on the case.
The Texas Rangers are assisting the Sherman Police Department in the ongoing investigation.
