A driver fled on foot and evaded arrest after leading authorities on a brief pursuit through Sherman early Friday morning.
At about 12:40 a.m., a Texas Department of Public Safety trooper observed a Nissan Maxima commit a traffic violation on State Highway 11 near State Highway 56. DPS Staff Sgt. Mark Tackett said the trooper flipped on his vehicle’s overhead lights and attempted to stop the vehicle.
“The driver elected to evade and turned into Sherman on a side street,” Tackett said. “The driver drove through a residential area before abandoning the vehicle in a driveway on Jones Street.”
The driver then fled on foot and evaded authorities. Tackett said the driver was not identified, but authorities will continue to investigate the incident.
