Sherman Police


Discharge/display firearm — Officers were dispatched on July 30 to the 700 block of North Harrison Street in response to a call of shots fired. Upon arrival, they located spent casings in the roadway of the 600 block of North Harrison Street. An investigation was conducted, and it was determined that an individual was discharging a firearm while driving through the area. A report was generated for disorderly conduct discharge/display firearm.


Assault — Officers responded to a call on July 30 from a female complainant in the 200 block of East Utah Street that said she was bleeding after being punched in the nose by her ex-boyfriend. Upon officer arrival, they learned that the suspect had struck the victim in the nose during an argument, leaving the victim with visible injuries. The suspect was arrested for assault causing bodily injury/family violence.


Assault — Officers responded on July 30 to a call from the 1600 block of LaSalle Drive in reference to an assault. Upon arrival, they spoke with a female victim who stated that her live-in boyfriend had assaulted her. The suspect was not at the scene, and the investigation is ongoing. A report for assault causing bodily injury to a family member was filed.


Public intoxication — Dispatch received a call on July 30 in reference to a disturbance in the 1600 block of North Ross Street. Officers were dispatched, and a male suspect causing the disturbance was found hiding under a truck on the property. After an investigation was conducted, the suspect was arrested for public intoxication.


Death investigation — Officers responded on July 30 to the report of a death in the 500 block of North Ricketts. Upon arrival, they found the subject was deceased. An investigation was conducted, and no foul play is suspected. A report was taken for the incident.


Possession — Officers observed a vehicle with a rear tag light not functioning properly on July 30, in the 400 block of South Crockett Street. They conducted a traffic stop and obtained consent to search the vehicle. That search revealed a methamphetamine pipe with residue. The driver was arrested for possession of a controlled substance less than one ounce.


Denison Police


Driving while intoxicated — Officers responded on July 28 to the call of an erratic driver. The vehicle was stopped in the 2900 block of Eisenhower Parkway. The driver was arrested for driving while intoxicated with an open container.


Assault — A male victim stated on July 28 that he was pushed backwards through a door, causing him to fall and strike his head in the 1000 block of West Nelson. A male suspect was arrested for assault causing bodily injury.


Possession — An officer stopped a vehicle on July 28 for a traffic violation in the 1900 block of South Armstrong. A suspect was arrested for possession of marijuana.


Theft — A victim stated on July 29 that she left her purse at a work station in the 3500 block of South Park. When she returned, her purse was gone. There were no suspects at the time of the report.


Driving while intoxicated — Officers were dispatched on July 29 to an accident at the intersection of Texoma Drive and State Highway 91. A male suspect was arrested for driving while intoxicated third or more convictions and driving while license invalid/enhanced.


Public intoxication — Officers responded on July 30 in the role of cover officer for a Texas Department of Public Safety Trooper on a traffic stop. Denison Police arrested a male suspect for public intoxication.


Fugitive from justice — An officer stopped a vehicle on July 30 for a traffic violation in the 1900 block of West Johnson. A male passenger was arrested for failure to identify/fugitive from justice and an outstanding Grayson County warrant.


Burglary — Officers responded on July 31 to a female complainant in the 1100 block of West Shepherd. She stated that a male suspect removed a refrigerator and other property from a residence she and another person were moving into. The suspect left when told the police were being called.


Public intoxication — Officers observed a male suspect who was intoxicated walking in the roadway in the 1000 block of West Austin on July 31. The suspect was arrested for public intoxication.


Outstanding warrants — Officers responded on July 31 to the call of a vehicle blocking the roadway in the 500 block of Martin Luther King. A female suspect was arrested for outstanding Grayson County warrants.
