Sherman Police


Criminal mischief — An officer responded on July 28 to a female complainant in the 700 block of East Scott Street. She stated that her neighbor intentionally cut a hole in her fence. When she confronted her neighbor about the hole, he said he would fix it. A report for criminal mischief from $100-$750 was filed.


Theft — An officer was dispatched on July 25 to a business in the 2800 block of North U.S. Highway 75. It was reported that a suspect in a truck had stolen an outdoor display shelf. The suspect’s vehicle was identified, and a report for theft was generated.


Theft — An officer responded on July 25 to a female complainant in the 700 block of Patricia Drive. She stated that she purchased a dog from a website but never received the dog. She later discovered that the website was fake and that she had been scammed. A report for theft was filed.


Harassment — A male entered the police department on July 25 to report he was being harassed. He stated that his ex-girlfriend’s new boyfriend was sending him threatening text messages and phone calls. A report for harassment was completed and the investigation is ongoing.


Credit card abuse — A male entered the police department on July 25 and reported that someone obtained his credit card information and made an unauthorized purchase. He stated that the transaction was made at a business in the 400 block of East U.S. Highway 82. A report for theft was generated.


Assault — An officer responded on July 25 to a female complainant in the 1000 block of North Ross Street. She stated that she was forcibly removed from her residence and pushed to the ground by two family members. The family members, a male and female, admitted to removing and assaulting the victim. They were arrested for assault causing bodily injury to a family member.


Firearm found—An officer was dispatched on July 28 to an abandoned vehicle in the 200 block of South Crockett Street. Upon arrival, the officer found a firearm in the vehicle. The firearm was stored for safe keeping, and the vehicle was towed.


Burglary — An officer was dispatched on July 28 to a building in the 1300 block of South Crockett Street. It was reported that multiple tools and other items were stolen. A report for burglary of a building was generated.


Forgery — An officer was dispatched on July 28 to the 300 block of South Travis Street in reference to a theft. The victim reported selling a used cellphone through a selling app. The buyer used counterfeit money to pay for the phone and left before the seller realized the money was fake. A report for forgery of a government instrument was filed.


Burglary — Officers responded on July 28 to a female complainant in the 3300 block of North Heritage Parkway. She stated that someone had broken into her vehicle sometime during the night and stolen approximately $260. A report for burglary of a vehicle was reported.


Assault — An officer was dispatched on July 28 to the 300 block of Archer Drive in reference to an assault. The victim stated that she had been assaulted by her boyfriend. A report was taken, and the case is under investigation.
