Driving while license suspended — An officer conducted a traffic stop on July 23 in the 5600 block of West Texoma Parkway. The male driver did not provide proof of insurance, had a suspended license and was found to be in possession of a controlled substance. He was arrested for driving while license was invalid with previous convictions without financial responsibility and possession of a controlled substance less than one gram.
Possession — Officers stopped a vehicle on July 23 in the 300 block of North U.S. Highway 75 for speeding and having an unreadable license plate. A probable cause search of the vehicle revealed marijuana in the possession of a male suspect. He was arrested for possession of marijuana less than two ounces. A small baggie containing a brown substance was found to be in the possession of an additional suspect. It was sent to the DPS lab for testing, and the suspect was filed on for possession of a controlled substance less than one gram.
Possession — An officer was dispatched on July 21 to the 2300 block of West Pecan Grove Road in reference to a suspicious vehicle. A conversation with the occupants led to a search of the vehicle which revealed the presence of contraband. A report for possession of marijuana less than two ounces was generated.
Criminal mischief — The Public Safety Assistant spoke on July 21 with a male victim in the 800 block of East Summit Street. He reported that a suspect had slashed four tires on his vehicles during the night.
Forgery — A female entered police headquarters on July 21 to report a theft. She stated that a check had been stolen from her checkbook and then deposited with a forged signature. A report for forgery of a financial instrument was filed, and the investigation is ongoing.
Burglary — An officer was dispatched on July 21 to the 800 block of East Jones Street. A female victim stated that a suspect had stolen a lawnmower and gas trimmer from a shed behind her residence. A report for burglary of a building was generated.
Striking a fixture — An officer was dispatched on July 21 to the 2600 block of North Ricketts Street in reference to a mailbox being struck by a vehicle. The vehicle had left the scene before information could be gathered. A report for striking a fixture/highway landscaping was filed.
Assault — An officer responded on July 21 to a female complainant in the 1200 block of East Chaffin Street. She stated that she was assaulted and choked by her common-law husband. He then left before police arrived. A report for assault family/house member impeding breath was filed.
Assault — An officer responded on July 22 to a report of two males fighting each other in the 5600 block of Texoma Parkway. One of the males had visible injuries.
Theft — An officer was dispatched on July 22 to the 2600 block of West Center Street. It was reported that a suspect had removed property from that location during the night. A report for theft of property from $750-$2,500 was filed.
Possession — An officer conducted a traffic stop on July 22 in the 600 block of South Willow Street. The male driver was in possession of marijuana and showed to have previous convictions for driving while license invalid. He was arrested and taken to the Grayson County jail.
Driving while intoxicated — Dispatch received a call on July 22 in reference to an intoxicated driver in the 300 block of South Andrews Street. Officers were dispatched, and they made contact with the driver, who refused to submit to a field sobriety test. He had alcohol on his breath, red watery eyes, slurred speech and was unstable on his feet. The suspect was arrested for driving while intoxicated.
Assault — Officers were dispatched to a disturbance on July 22 in the 500 block of South Walnut Street. A female victim reported that a suspect punched and shoved her during an argument. A report for assault causing bodily injury was filed.
Criminal trespass — Officers witnessed a male suspect force open a door to a vehicle on July 23 and then enter the vehicle without permission from the owner. The suspect did not commit any other offenses while he was inside the vehicle and was arrested for criminal trespass.
Burglary — An officer responded on July 23 to a female complainant in the 800 block of South Throckmorton Street. She reported that someone entered her unlocked vehicle and stole items. A report for burglary of a vehicle was generated.
Burglary — Officers were dispatched on July 23 to the 1100 block of Hazelwood Avenue in reference to a vehicle burglary. A suspect entered an unlocked vehicle and removed a wallet. An offense report was completed.
Burglary — An officer responded on July 21 to a female victim in the 900 block of West Day. She stated that a suspect entered her unlocked vehicle and took her purse.
Public intoxication — Officers observed a male suspect on July 21 to be intoxicated in the 300 block of West Main. The suspect was arrested for public intoxication.
Assault — A male complainant reported on July 21 that he and his wife attended an event and had been drinking. When they arrived home, they argued and he was assaulted by his wife. The suspect was arrested for assault causing bodily injury/family violence.
Assault — Complainants stated on July 22 that a male had assaulted several people in the 400 block of West Crawford Street, and then left. The suspect returned to the scene and was arrested for public intoxication. A case will be sent to the Grayson County District Attorney’s Office in reference to the alleged assaults.
Criminal mischief — An officer responded on July 22 to a female complainant in the 1200 block of Ridgewood. She stated that when she broke up with her boyfriend, he damaged the windshield on her vehicle. The investigation will continue.
Possession — An officer stopped a vehicle on July 22 for a traffic violation in the 300 block of West Hull. The female driver was arrested for possession of drug paraphernalia.
Credit/debit card abuse — An officer responded on July 22 to a male complainant in the 100 block of South Wood. He stated that someone took his credit card and used it without his permission. A suspect has been identified, and the investigation will continue.
