Sherman Police


Disorderly conduct — Dispatch received a call on July 10 from a female complainant in the 4200 block of South U.S. Highway 75. She stated that she was going to fight another female over a road rage incident when the other party displayed a knife. The caller claimed she was concerned for her safety. A report for disorderly conduct was generated.


Burglary — An officer responded on July 8 to a complaint of a theft in the 2100 block of South Montgomery Street. The caller stated that a suspect entered the residence and took items. A report for burglary of a habitation was generated.


Possession — Officers conducted a traffic stop on July 9 in the 100 block of North Lincoln Street. The driver was observed trying to consume several white pills identified as Alprazolam. A probable cause search of the vehicle was conducted revealing the presence of marijuana and ecstasy, and the driver was arrested. A report was filed for possession of marijuana less than 2 ounces in a drug-free zone, possession of a controlled substance from 4 to 400 grams, possession of a controlled substance less than 28 grams in a drug-free zone, and tampering and fabricating physical evidence with intent to impair.


Assault — An officer responded on July 9 to a male complainant the 1200 block of Taylor Street. The caller reported he had been hit in the face and scratched by his girlfriend. The girlfriend stated she had done so in self-defense while he was assaulting and choking her. Due to lack of physical evidence, neither party was arrested. Reports were filed for assault causing bodily injury/family violence along with assault causing bodily injury/family violence impeding breathing.


Possession — Officers made a traffic stop on July 9 in the 1100 block of West Houston Street. The driver consented to a search of the vehicle, which revealed a clear glass pipe with a white residue under the driver seat. The residue tested positive for methamphetamine, and the driver was arrested for possession of a controlled substance.


Theft — An officer responded on July 9 to a male complainant in the 700 block of South Travis Street. The victim stated that someone stole his vehicle. A report was generated for theft from $2,500 to $30,000.


Possession — Officers conducted a traffic stop on July 9 in the 100 block of West Houston Street for an unconfirmed insurance status. The driver consented to a search of his vehicle which revealed a bag of marijuana inside the vehicle. A male passenger was arrested for possession of marijuana less than 2 ounces.


Criminal mischief — Officers responded on July 10 to a female complainant in the 800 block of West Ellis Street. She stated a suspect threw a piece of asphalt through her window. A report for criminal mischief from $100 to $750 was filed.


Criminal mischief — An officer made contact on July 10 with a female reporting party in the 400 block of Anita Lane. She stated a suspect struck the side, rear quarter panel of her vehicle.


Burglary — An officer made contact on July 10 with a male reporting party in reference to found property. He stated he had found numerous items in his front yard which did not belong to him. He turned in the items, and it was later discovered that they had been stolen from a vehicle located near the complainant’s residence. A report for burglary of a vehicle was completed, and the items were returned to the owner.


Theft — An officer responded on July 10 to a male reporting party in reference to a theft. The complainant stated a male entered a store in the 400 block of East U.S. Highway 82 and selected merchandise. He then paid for only a portion of the merchandise and left the store. A report for theft was filed.


Criminal mischief — An officer responded on July 10 to a female complainant in the 400 block of East U.S. Highway 82. She stated a suspect had used a sharp object to damage the paint on the passenger side of her vehicle. A report for criminal mischief was generated.


Theft — An officer made contact on July 10 with a male complainant in the 900 block of Lee Street. The victim stated a suspect had removed a mountain bike from the carport of his residence. A report for theft was filed.


Found property — Some items were turned in that were lost on July 3 during the City of Sherman Lights on the Lake concert. The items were accepted for safekeeping.


Burglary — An officer was dispatched on July 10 to a residence in the 1600 block of Oakhill Drive in reference to a theft. It was learned that a suspect had entered two unlocked vehicles in the area and removed property. A report for burglary of a vehicle was completed.


Arrest warrant — Dispatch received a call on July 10 about two suspicious males at a business in the 1200 block of North Travis Street. Contact was made with the suspects and one of them had a warrant for injury to a child/elderly/disabled. The male suspect was arrested for the warrant.


Assault — Officers were dispatched on July 10 to the 2900 block of Timbercreek Drive in reference to an assault. Upon arrival, officers spoke with all involved parties. A report for assault causing bodily injury to a family member was generated.


Driving while intoxicated — Officers made a vehicle stop on July 10 in the 100 block of West Houston Street. The female driver lied about her name and was also determined to be intoxicated during a field sobriety test. She was arrested for driving while intoxicated and failure to identify giving false information.


Denison Police


Unlicensed driver — A vehicle was stopped on July 10 for a traffic violation. The driver was arrested for operating a motor vehicle with no operator’s license. A passenger was arrested for permitting an unlicensed operator to drive the vehicle.


Theft — Store personnel reported on July 10 that they observed a male remove two game controllers from a display, place them in a shopping bag and go past the last point of sale without paying for the items. The investigation will continue.


Public intoxication — Officers met an ambulance on July 10 in the 1400 block of West Morton. A suspect at the scene stated that she had fallen out of a tree in Oklahoma. She was taken to a hospital and treated for minor injuries and was then arrested for public intoxication.
