Theft of a firearm — An officer was dispatched on July 1 to a hotel in the 2900 block of North U.S. Highway 75. Upon his arrival, a female complainant stated that her handgun and cash were taken from her vehicle during the night. Reports for theft of a firearm and burglary of a vehicle were generated.
Theft — An officer responded on June 30 to a female complainant in the 700 block of South Elm Street. She stated that her ex-boyfriend had stolen some of her property. A report for theft was generated.
Theft — An officer was dispatched on June 30 to a store in the 1800 block of Texoma Parkway in reference to a complaint of theft. It was reported that a male suspect, who had already fled, engaged in theft by returning items he had never purchased. The case is under investigation.
Criminal mischief — A complaint was received on June 30 in reference to criminal mischief in the 4800 block of Timberview Drive. An officer was dispatched, and it was determined that a suspect had caused damage to a vehicle. A report was taken and the investigation is ongoing.
Walking on highway with traffic — Officers were dispatched on June 30 to the 200 block of South Heritage Parkway in reference to criminal trespass. Upon their arrival it was found that the suspect had fled. He was then located in the 2000 block of State Highway 56 walking eastbound on the south shoulder. He was then arrested for walking on highway with traffic/no sidewalk.
Assault — An officer responded on June 30 to a female complainant in the 1600 block of East FM 1417. She stated that she had been slapped in the face by her roommate's daughter, causing pain. The suspect fled before officers' arrival. A report for assault causing bodily injury was filed.
Public intoxication — Dispatch received a call on July 1 from the 4300 block of Hawk Lane. It was reported that a man was lying on the floor of his home covered in blood. An officer was dispatched and learned of a disturbance that had occurred between a male and his wife. The man, who was intoxicated, was found walking in the street, and he was arrested for public intoxication.
Assault — An officer was dispatched on July 1 to a disturbance in the 3200 block of Dauphine Drive. The officer spoke with the complainant who stated that his neighbor had pushed him while he was looking for his dog, which had offended him. A report for assault by contact was filed.
Criminal mischief — Officers responded on July 1 to the 4300 block of Hawk Lane where an intoxicated man was causing a disturbance with his wife. When his wife left, he became upset and hit a Sherman Police Department patrol vehicle, causing damage. A report for criminal mischief was generated.
Burglary — An officer responded on July 1 to a male complainant in the 900 block of East Thomas Street. He stated that a suspect entered his parked vehicle and stole his wallet. A report for burglary of a vehicle was filed.
Accident involving injury — An officer responded on July 1 to a female victim of a traffic accident in the 400 block North Sam Rayburn Freeway. She stated that the driver of the other vehicle, and its occupants, had fled the scene without providing her with any insurance information. She also stated that she was injured as a result of the crash. A report for accident involving injury was generated, and the investigation is ongoing.
Possession — Officers were dispatched on July 2 to a situation involving a vehicle in the 5000 block of Texoma Parkway. Drug paraphernalia was observed to be in plain view in the vehicle, and a search revealed that marijuana was also in the vehicle. A suspect was arrested for possession of marijuana less than two ounces.
Found property — An officer responded on July 2 to a female reporting party in the 4700 block of Indio Lane. She stated that a bicycle had been left in the area for approximately four days. It was taken for safekeeping, and a report for found property was taken.
Found property — A citizen conveyed a wallet and cellphone to the police department on July 2 stating they had been found in the roadway. The owner was contacted, and the items were returned.
Failure to identify — An officer was dispatched on July 2 to a male complainant in the 1800 block of West Crescent Drive. He stated that a suspect had been threatening him and his family. During the investigation, the suspect gave false information pertaining to his name. He was arrested for failure to identify, giving false/fictitious information.
Failure to identify — A vehicle was stopped on June 30 for traffic violations in the 200 block of East Morgan Street. A female suspect was arrested for an outstanding city of Denison warrant. A male suspect was arrested for failure to identify/false and fictitious information.
Criminal trespass — Officers responded on June 30 to a store in the 400 block of North U.S. Highway 75. It was reported that a female suspect was in the store who had previously been given a criminal trespass warning and told not to return. The suspect was arrested for criminal trespass.
Driving with no license — A vehicle was stopped on June 30 for a traffic violation. The driver was arrested for driving with no driver's license.
