Sherman Police are investigating a burglary where a man said three men broke into his home and assaulted him early Saturday morning.
At about 1 a.m., Sherman Police received a call from the 900 block of South Walnut Street reporting a 35-year-old man was possibly stabbed and robbed inside his residence. Sherman Police Sgt. D.M. Hampton said the victim said he woke up and somebody was on top of him while two other men were rifling through his belongings.
“Apparently while he was struggling with the person who was on top of him, he got a cut on his forearm,” Hampton said.
Hampton said the victim declined medical treatment, and the man reported the suspects stole cash, a wallet and a cellphone. The possibly armed suspects allegedly kicked in the front door of the residence, and Hampton said police found some blood on the door and a piece of the doorjamb on the ground.
“They were just described as three black males, wearing dark clothing and masks on their faces,” Hampton said.
A report was filed for burglary of a habitation, and the investigation is ongoing.
