A female suspect allegedly attacked a man with a baseball bat outside a Denison bar Thursday morning.
At about 11:36 a.m., a man reported to police that he was hit in the shoulder and neck with the bat outside a bar in the 2500 block of North State Highway 91. Denison Police Lt. Mike Eppler said the man did not require medical attention, and he managed to take the bat away from the suspect during the incident.
The suspect left the scene in a vehicle before police arrived, but Eppler said police know the woman’s identity.
“We know who she is — people on the scene told us who she was,” Eppler said. “We’ll, of course, try to make contact with her and get her side of the story. Then we’ll present the case to the D.A.’s (Grayson County District Attorney’s) office.”
A report for aggravated assault with a deadly weapon was filed with the department.
