Denison Police


Possession — A vehicle was stopped on June 12 for a traffic violation in the 100 block of Burnett Street. A male got out of the vehicle and fled on foot. Another male was arrested for possession of marijuana, and fraudulent use and possession of identifying information.


Unauthorized use of a vehicle — An officer responded on June 12 to a male complainant in the 2800 block of West Crawford Street. The victim stated that a juvenile suspect that he knew had taken his vehicle without permission. The vehicle was located and returned. A case will be forwarded to the Grayson County Juvenile Probation Department.


Driving while intoxicated — An officer responded on June 12 to a burglary complaint in the 100 block of East Main Street. The female complainant stated that someone was burglarizing her property, and she described the suspect’s vehicle. The vehicle was located and the driver was arrested for driving while intoxicated.


Burglary — An officer responded on June 12 to a male complainant in the 500 block of West Owings Street. The victim stated that he was missing various electronic devices, cash and some copper pipe from his residence. The investigation is ongoing.


Burglary — An officer responded on June 13 to a female complainant in the 500 block of East Morton Street. She stated that an unknown suspect had stolen a wallet from her vehicle.


Theft — A complainant reported on June 13 that lawn furniture was missing from her yard in the 700 block of West Johnson Street. She named a possible suspect and the investigation is ongoing.


Burglary — An officer responded on June 13 to a burglary complaint in the 1900 block of MacGregor Street. It was reported that saddles, bridles, halters and clippers were missing from a shed. An investigation is underway.


Sherman Police


Debit card abuse — An officer responded on June 16 to a male complainant in the 400 block of East U.S. Highway 82. The victim stated that a suspect had used his debit card at various locations without his consent. A report for credit card or debit card abuse was generated.


Theft from a person — Officers were dispatched on June 16 to the 1800 block of West Crescent Drive in response to a report of theft. It was learned that a purse was stolen from a female while she was exiting her vehicle. No injuries were reported, and the case is under investigation.


Burglary — An officer responded on June 16 to reports of theft in the 900 block of South Montgomery Street. A female reported that items were taken from her unlocked vehicle. Another female reported that items were taken from her vehicle. A report for burglary of a motor vehicle was filed.


Assault with deadly weapon — An officer was dispatched on June 16 to the 1000 block of East Epstein Street in reference to a male waving a gun inside a truck. After speaking with all parties involved, a report for aggravated assault with a deadly weapon was filed.


Burglary — Officers were dispatched on June 16 to the 1100 block of South Gribble Street in reference to a burglary. It was learned that a suspect had made entry into a vehicle and stolen the car radio. A report for burglary of a vehicle was filed.


Criminal mischief — An officer was dispatched on June 17 to the 800 block of South Scott Street. It was observed that the windshield on the victim’s vehicle had been damaged. A report for criminal mischief between $100-$750 was filed.


Burglary — An officer responded on June 17 to a male complainant in the 1100 block of South Hazelwood Street. The victim stated that a suspect had entered his vehicle without permission and stolen his handgun. Reports for theft of a firearm and burglary of a vehicle were generated.


Assault — An officer responded on June 17 to a female complainant in the 2300 of West Taylor Street. She reported that her common law husband had assaulted her while attempting to get her purse from her. She stated that he tackled her to the ground and drug her by her head. A report for assault causing bodily injury to a family member was filed.


Driving while intoxicated — An officer was dispatched on June 17 to a major crash in the 2600 block of West Moore Street. Upon arrival, the officer spoke with the driver of a vehicle that was involved, and it was determined that the driver was intoxicated. The driver was arrested for driving while intoxicated.


Possession — An officer observed a vehicle after hours in Pecan Grove Park on June 18. The male driver of the vehicle was found to be in possession of marijuana. He was arrested for possession of marijuana and transported to the Grayson County Jail.


Criminal mischief — An officer responded on June 18 to the report of a damaged vehicle in the 600 block of Cleveland Street. The vehicle was parked on private property and was possibly damaged by a neighbor. A report for criminal mischief was filed.


Unauthorized use of a vehicle — Officers responded on June 18 to a male complainant in the 200 block of Archer Drive. The victim stated that he had allowed a female whom he had just met to borrow his vehicle. After a few hours, the female never returned. A report for unauthorized use of a vehicle was filed.


Walking in the roadway — An officer was dispatched on June 18 to the 5000 block of U.S. Highway 75. Upon arrival, they observed a male walking in the roadway in the southbound lane of traffic. The male was arrested and transported to the Grayson County Jail.


Theft — An officer was dispatched on June 18 to the 1800 block of Andy Drive in reference to a disturbance. While the officer was on scene, dispatch received a second call about a stolen cellphone that was being tracked to the house on Andy Drive. The cellphone was located in the suspect’s pocket, who was then arrested for theft of property from $100-$750.
