Sherman may soon see roof repair work being done on a pair of city buildings.

The Sherman City Council will consider approving separate contracts for roof repairs to City Hall and its Solid Waste Department building. The council’s meeting will be at 5 p.m. Monday in the council chambers of City Hall.

If approved, the contract for the repairs at City Hall would be with Parsons Commercial Roofing for $75,518, while the contract for the Solid Waste Department building would be with Big Bear Roofing & Construction for $56,785.

The council will also consider a resolution to deny the filing by Oncor Electric Delivery Co. for an application to change rates within the city. The application, which was filed in March, is seeking to increase the company’s systemwide distribution and transmission rates by $317 million, which is about 7.5 percent more than current revenues.

Sherman Economic Development Corp. board Chairman Greg Kirkpatrick and SEDCO President John Plotnik will also give the council an update on that organization’s work over the last quarter.

At the end of the meeting, the council will go into a closed, executive session in order to consult with the city attorney and deliberate on economic development negotiations. The council will return to open session to take any actions deemed necessary.
