Grayson County commissioners are considering canceling their meeting currently set for the 4th of July. Commissioners will consider their holiday plans at their meeting at 10 a.m. Tuesday at the Grayson County Courthouse in Sherman.
Grayson County Commissioner David Whitlock is expected to run the meeting in the absence of Grayson County Judge Bill Magers who told commissioners on Tuesday that he will be in Washington, D.C. next week working to get the North Texas Regional Airport into the federal control tower program.
Commissioners don’t have a controversial agenda laid out for their meeting without Magers. Jeff Whitmire, commissioner for Precinct 1, will ask the court to consider canceling that meeting since the rest of the county’s offices will be closed on the holiday.
In addition, commissioners will consider granting the sale of several pieces of property that failed to see at auction. They will also consider an application for a ballistic vest program. No details about the program were available in the court’s agenda packet on Friday.
