Denison Police


Evading arrest — An officer attempted to stop a vehicle on June 4 for a traffic violation in the 700 block of West Walker Street. The driver continued driving and bailed out of the vehicle. Sufficient items were left in the vehicle to identify the driver. Charges will be filed.


Driving while intoxicated — An officer responded on June 4 to the report of a suspicious vehicle in the 2800 block of West Sunset Street. The male driver was impaired and was found to have a city warrant. He was arrested for driving while intoxicated.


Possession — An officer stopped a vehicle on June 4 for a traffic violation in the 1100 block of South Austin Avenue. The driver was found to be in possession of narcotics and was arrested for possession of a controlled substance and for two city warrants.


Driving while intoxicated — An officer stopped a vehicle on June 4 for a traffic violation in the 500 block of West Morton Street. The driver was found to be impaired and was arrested for driving while intoxicated.


Theft — An officer responded on June 5 to a female complainant in the 1800 block of Fannin Avenue. She reported having seen a suspicious vehicle and that seven brass ornaments had been stolen from her front porch. She provided a description of the vehicle driven by a male suspect.


Evading arrest — An officer attempted to stop a vehicle for a traffic violation. The driver refused to stop and continued driving. Upon stopping in a residential yard, the driver was detained and was found to have an outstanding warrant for a parole violation.


Sherman Police


Found property — An iPod was turned in to the police department on June 2. It was found at a business in the 2200 block of Texoma Parkway. It was received for safekeeping and a report was generated.


Assault — An officer responded on June 3 to a male complainant in the 200 block of Archer Drive. He stated that he had been assaulted in the 500 block of West Lamar Street. A report for assault was filed, and the investigation in ongoing.


Theft — Officers responded on June 3 to a male complainant in the 800 block of South Gribble Street. He stated that a window unit had been stolen from his residence. A report for theft was filed.


Criminal mischief — An officer responded on June 4 to the 1300 block of East FM 1417 in reference to a vehicle being vandalized. An investigation was conducted and a report for criminal mischief was filed.


Leaving the scene — An officer responded on June 4 to a female complainant in the 400 block of West McGee Street. She stated that a white truck with scrap metal in the back hit her vehicle and drove away without leaving information. She gave a vague description of the suspect, and the area was searched. Neither the suspected driver or vehicle were found.


Deadly conduct — Officers responded on June 5 to a male complainant in the 3200 block of North U.S. Highway 75. He stated that he had been shot at. Evidence was collected at the scene.


Possession — Officers responded on June 6 to the complaint of a male trespassing in a residence in the 1800 block of Texoma Parkway. While speaking with the suspect, they found a glass pipe containing a white substance that tested positive for methamphetamine. The suspect was arrested for possession of a controlled substance less than one gram.


Unauthorized use of vehicle — An officer spoke with a male complainant on June 6 in the 1900 block of West Taylor Street. The complainant stated that his adult son had taken his vehicle sometime in the night without his permission. A report for unauthorized use of a vehicle was filed.


Criminal mischief — An officer responded on June 6 to a female complainant in the 1200 block of North Cleveland Street. She stated that a suspect had driven through her front yard sometime that morning causing damage to the yard. A report for criminal mischief was generated.


Theft — An officer made telephone contact on June 6 with a male complainant in reference to a theft. He reported that sometime that morning a suspect had removed three hand tools from the bed of his pickup truck parked in the 700 block of East Mulberry Street. A report for theft was generated.


Assault — Officers were dispatched to Texoma Medical Center on June 6 in reference to an assault. A female complainant reported that she had been assaulted several days prior by a known male. A report for assault causing injury to a family member was filed.


Possession — Officers conducted a traffic stop on June 6 in the 1900 block of North Grand Avenue. They found marijuana in the vehicle of a male driver who was intoxicated. He was arrested for possession of marijuana less than two ounces and driving while intoxicated.
