Sherman Police


Burglary — An officer made telephone contact on April 27 with a male complainant in reference to a suspect gaining entry into the complainant’s vehicle, a 2013 maroon four-door Nissan Maxima. At the time the incident occurred, the vehicle was unlocked and parked in the driveway of the complainant’s residence in the 1900 block of Southridge Lane. Once inside the vehicle, the suspect removed several electronics. A report for burglary of a vehicle was generated.


Theft — A report was taken on April 27 for theft of property between $100-$750 from a business in the 400 block of East U.S. Highway 82.


Assault — An officer was dispatched on April 27 to a family assault between husband and wife. According to the wife, she kept their vehicle keys from the husband. The husband forcibly took their keys from her while physically assaulting her. A report for assault causing bodily injury to a family member was generated.


Fraudulent use of identifying information — An officer spoke on April 27 to a husband and wife in the lobby of the Sherman Police Department in reference to someone using their personal information to obtain goods or services by fraudulent means. A report for possession of identifying information was generated and forwarded to the criminal investigation database.


Found property — A citizen found a set of keys on April 29 in the 1100 block of South Travis and turned them over to the police as found property. The keys contained a customer identification card to a local business. The officer was able to use that customer appreciation card and deliver the keys back to the owner.


Theft — An officer made telephone contact on April 28 with a male complainant in reference to a theft. A male suspect, known to the complainant, entered the business located on Motors Drive on April 28. Once inside the business, the suspect removed a Miller Classic brand welding helmet valued at $110. Once the suspect had the helmet in his hand, he placed it under his jacket and walked out of the business. A report for theft was generated.


Burglary — Sherman Police Department received a call on April 28 in reference to a theft in the 600 block of South Loving Avenue sometime between April 23-28. When police arrived, it was found that the suspect made entry into the home unlawfully and stole a number of appliances from inside the home. An offense report was generated for burglary of a habitation.


Possession of marijuana — An officer made contact on April 29 with two males in the 1600 block of North Harrison Avenue. Upon making contact with the males, the officer detected the odor of marijuana. Both males were searched as well as the vehicle which they occupied. Marijuana was found inside the vehicle and one of the males was placed under arrest. A report was generated for possession of marijuana under two ounces.


Driving while license invalid — Sherman Police made a traffic stop on April 29 in the 1700 block of North Grand Avenue for defective equipment. After investigation, it was learned the driver did not possess a valid Texas driver’s license. An offense report was generated for driving while license invalid with previous convictions/suspensions without financial responsibility.


Possession of marijuana — Sherman Police dispatch received a call on April 29 of a suspicious female in the 400 block of West Olive Street. Upon police arrival, a female was found outside the residence. The female did not live on the property. The female was showing signs of being on some type of narcotic. The female gave officers consent to search her property. Officers found a usable amount of marijuana on her. She was arrested and taken to the Grayson County Jail.


Burglary — Sherman dispatch received a call on April 29 from a male located in the 900 block of East Wells Avenue. The male wanted to report someone came into his residence and stole a cellphone. Officers were dispatched to the scene and conducted an investigation. A report was taken for burglary of a habitation.


Reckless driving — Sherman Police Dispatch received a call on April 29 in reference to a vehicle driving reckless in the 700 block of South Throckmorton Street. The victim claimed he was almost run over by the vehicle. Police conducted an investigation and located the driver of the vehicle. An offense report was completed.


Driving while license invalid — An officer conducted a traffic stop on April 29 in the 400 block of West Lamberth Road. The driver was identified. There was no proof of financial responsibility for the vehicle. The driver’s license showed to be currently suspended and she showed to have a previous conviction of driving while license invalid. She was arrested for driving while license invalid with previous conviction/suspension without financial responsibility. She was taken to the Grayson County Jail.


Burglary — An officer was dispatched on April 30 to the 1200 block of East King Street for a burglary of a motor vehicle. The victim reported that sometime during the previous night, an unknown person entered her unsecured vehicle and stole money and electronics. A report was completed for burglary of a motor vehicle.


Burglary — Sherman dispatch received a call on April 30 from a female located in the 1800 block of West Crescent. The female wanted to report someone had broken into her vehicle and stolen some of her property. Officers were dispatched to the scene and conducted an investigation. A report was taken for burglary of a vehicle.


Driving while intoxicated — A traffic stop was conducted on April 30 in the 200 block of South Walnut Street. The driver was arrested for driving while intoxicated/open alcohol container.


Denison Police


Theft — A complainant in the 200 block of Sharon Circle said on April 27 that an unknown suspect stole a 16 foot dual axle trailer from their residence.


Unauthorized use of vehicle — A complainant on Smith Drive said on April 27 that her vehicle, a black Nissan Pathfinder, was taken from her residence without permission. Police will be following up on leads.


Disturbance — Officers responded to a call on April 27 from the 200 block of West Crawford Street of a possible disturbance and assault. The suspect was arrested for possession of a controlled substance and tampering with evidence.
