One woman was transported to the hospital Friday afternoon following a collision in Sherman between two vehicles at the intersection of Lamar Street and the U.S. Highway 75.

Sherman Police say that at approximately 2:45 p.m. a silver Ford Focus traveling east on Lamar Street may have run a red light, as reported by witnesses and struck a northbound white, Infiniti sedan traveling along the freeway control road. Following the collision the two vehicles came to a rest near the Lamar Street entrance to the Exxon gas station. The silver Ford Focus was wedged underneath an electronic sign board.

The driver of the Infiniti was taken to the hospital by ambulance with injuries that were not life threatening. The female driver of the Ford Focus was not injured in the wreck.

Police said they did not expect to issue any citations.
