A two-vehicle wreck in Denison Thursday afternoon temporarily reduced traffic to one lane on southbound U.S. Highway 75. The wreck occurred near the Loy Lake Road and closed the outside lane and on-ramp of the highway while first responders worked the scene.

The incident occurred shortly after 2 p.m. when an Acura struck a semitrailer on the outside lane of traffic, Denison Police Officer Todd Smith said. The wreck likely happened when the driver of the Acura tried to change lanes to avoid the slower-moving truck, Smith said. Driver inattentiveness may have played a factor, he added.

There were no injuries in the wreck despite significant damage to the Acura. The truck was able to move away from the scene of the wreck for additional repairs, Smith said.
