Criminal mischief — An officer made telephone contact with a male complainant on March 13 in reference to criminal mischief. A suspect used vehicle paint to write on the four windows of the complainant’s vehicle and draw pictures of male genitalia. The vehicle was parked in the 3500 block of Town Center. A report for criminal mischief was generated.
Driving while licence invalid — An officer initiated a traffic stop on March 10 in the 1200 block of West Taylor Street for wireless communication and speeding in a school zone. The driver’s Texas license was suspended. The driver was arrested for the driver’s license violation, and transported to the Grayson County Jail.
Theft — Sherman Police Department dispatched an officer on March 10 to the 300 block of South Travis Street in reference to a theft. Upon arrival, it was found that a male was allowed to use the victim’s truck to take another male home, who never returned with the truck. The victim was told that the passenger left an apartment complex with it. After several attempts to contact the suspects, she reported it as stolen. The vehicle was recovered but it was missing the electronics. A report was made and the investigation is ongoing.
Credit or debit card abuse — Sherman Police Department dispatched an officer on March 10 to the 300 block of South Travis Street in reference to a theft. Upon arrival, one victim wanted to report their vehicle stolen, and another victim wanted to report their wallet, which contained two pay cards, stolen. A report was made for credit or debit card abuse, and the investigation is ongoing.
Graffiti — An officer made telephone contact with a female reporting party in reference to graffiti on March 10. A suspect used spray paint to deface the west side of an office building located in the 2900 block of North Highway 75. According to the reporting party, the graffiti was not discovered until March 9, but it is believed to have occurred approximately one month prior. A report for graffiti was generated.
Assault — Sherman dispatch received a call on March 10 from a female in the 1100 block of East Summit. People were threatened by a subject who they claimed had a firearm, and fired it at another person. The Criminal Investigation Division arrived on scene and the incident is being investigated.
Assault — An officer spoke to a complainant in the lobby of the Sherman Police Department on March 10 and she stated that she was assaulted in the 300 block of West FM 1417 by her daughter during an argument. The officer spoke to all parties, and generated a report for assault causing bodily injury to a family member.
Stolen vehicle — Sherman Police Department dispatched an officer to the 1900 block of North Grand Avenue on March 11 in reference to an abandoned vehicle. Upon arrival, it was found that the vehicle was reported stolen from Allen. The vehicle was confirmed stolen and seized for Allen Police.
Burglary — An officer spoke to a female in the lobby of the Sherman Police Department on March 11. The female advised that an unknown suspect entered her residence without permission and stole property. A report was generated for burglary of habitation. The case is under investigation.
Burglary — An officer responded to a residence in the 600 block of South Charles on March 12, when a homeowner interrupted the burglary of his vehicle in his driveway. The suspect had fled the scene prior to police arrival. A report for the burglary of a vehicle was completed. Officers searched the area, but were not able to locate the suspect.
Driving while intoxicated — A traffic stop was made on March 12 in the 2500 block of North U.S. Highway 75. The driver was arrested for driving while intoxicated and an open alcohol container.
Burglary — An officer was dispatched on March 13 to the 600 block of South Charles in regards to a possible burglary of a vehicle. Upon arrival, the officer spoke with the victim, who advised that someone broke into their car during the day and took her wallet. A burglary of a vehicle report was generated.
Resisting arrest — Officers were dispatched to a disturbance on Austin Street involving a woman “banging on doors.” The woman was intoxicated on methamphetamine, so she was arrested for public intoxication. She subsequently resisted arrest, and was arrested for that as well.
