Friends and family of Emily Parks, director of communications for the Sherman Independent School District, are asking members of the Sherman-Denison community for donations that will help the expectant mother after her husband Danny Parks was killed in a motorcycle accident earlier this week.

Danny Parks, 31, died Tuesday after he lost control of his motorcycle along U.S. Highway 75 in Denison. His death comes just weeks before what would have been the couple’s third wedding anniversary and precedes the birth of their baby girl, who is expected to be born in February. Parks said she plans to name her daughter Kelly Grahmn Parks. The child will share the same middle name as her father.

Emily Parks described her late husband as “compassionate and considerate” and said he was always willing to help anyone for any reason. Parks said the two met through shared friends several years ago when they were living in Huddo. After meeting Danny for the first time, she said she knew instantly that he was someone special. The two married in December 2013.

Donations benefiting Parks and her daughter can be made through PayPal and directed to the email account, egrobe@gmail.com. Grobe is Parks’ maiden name.

Parks, who recently moved to the area to work with Sherman ISD, said she is thankful for the immediate outpouring of support she has received from the community

“I’ve only been here for a few months and the support and help from this community, just so far, has blown me away,” Park said. “I’m so grateful and thankful for it and I see it as a true blessing.”
