LaRonda Gaines and Abraham Sogoba, both of Sherman, were wed Feb. 14 at Progressive Baptist Church in Sherman. Officiating was the Rev. Craig Davis Sr.


The bride is the daughter of Ronald and Shari Gaines of Allen and the Rev. Mannie and Annie Mitchell of Colbert, Oklahoma. Her grandparents are Vernell Gaines, Inez Williams, Jo Stevenson and the late Gustava Mitchell, Lee Mitchell and Alton and Joyce Crumby. She is a graduate of Sherman High School and attends Grayson College.


The groom is the son of Maurice and Sara Sogoba. His grandparents are Karia Dembele and Yacouba Dembele. He earned a master’s degree from the University of Mali and is employed in customer service.


Maid of honor was Talya Hines and matron of honor was Brandi Gaines. Bridesmaids were Leslie Huey and Sandra Owens and junior bridesmaids were Tyra Grant, Brianna Osbourne and Asia Marin.


Flower girl was Abrayia Gaines and ring bearer was Tyron Glover.


Best man was Siaka Toure. Groomsmen were Jeremy Gaines, Ibrahime Sidibe and Carmel Dougleou.


Ushers were Jerald Henderson and Keith Hines.


Candlelighters were LaKeyta Andrews and Jerald Henderson. Prayers were given by the Rev. Mannie Mitchell and Jerald Henderson.


Wedding music was provided by William Stevenson, Kristin Ogala and Jimmy McClinton.


Wedding coordinator was Veronica Alford and guest registrars were Mark and Tasha Ellison. Other wedding assistants were Gwen Henderson and Victor Henderson.


A reception was held at the Quality Inn ballroom. Assisting were Cynthia Brown and Jimmy McClinton.


A rehearsal dinner was hosted by family members.


The couple resides in Sherman.
