Cajun food, music and auctions will highlight the annual St. Luke’s Day School Mardis Gras dinner and auction on Feb. 22. The adult-only event will be held in Kohfeldt Hall, directly north of St. Luke’s Episcopal Church in Denison.

The festivities kick off at 6 p.m. with a cajun dinner. The menu includes shrimp cocktail, mixed greens with vinaigrette, gumbo, cajun pork loin, dirty rice, green beans, cinnamon crisp, tea and coffee. Beer and "wine-a-ritas" will also be available.

A silent auction will be held and a live auction begins at 8:15 p.m. with Karen Salyer serving as auctioneer. Among the many auction items will be Dallas Cowboy memorabilia, antiques, FC Dallas major league soccer tickets, decorative items, a Texas A&M football, autographed memorabilia, Texas Ranger baseball tickets, a firearm, a vacation to South Padre Island and more.

Live music will be provided by Fin City, a Jimmy Buffett tribute band.

Funds from the event are used to supplement the tuition funds, enabling students and staff to have additional supplies, curriculum, technology equipment, facility improvements and other needs. The school has accreditation from the Southwestern Association of Episcopal Schools.

Tickets are $25 per person in advance or $30 per person at the door. Monetary donations and items for the auctions are also still being accepted.
