Monthly artists

BONHAM — Denise Green, Bobbie Dudley and John Allen Simpson are the Bonham Creative Arts Center’s (CAC) "artists of the month" for March. Their work will be exhibited at the center, 200 West 5th Street, and at various other Bonham locations. For more information, call 903-640-2196.

Green’s work will be displayed at the Fannin County Courthouse in Bonham. She and her husband live outside of Ector where they raise cattle and also have horses. Green uses photography to capture her favorite moments and express her artistic talents.

Dudley’s photography is being exhibited at Legend Bank in Bonham. She became interested in photography after becoming a widow in 1980 and raising two children alone. She used photography to record her children’s many activities. She moved from Mesquite to Bonham in 1986, has been a member of the Red River Photo Club since 2007 and became an artist member of the CAC in 2008.

Simpson’s work is displayed at Bonham City Hall. Born in Wichita Falls, he began honing his drawing skills as a child by learning from his aunt who was an accomplished oil painter. She and his mother encouraged him in his artwork. In sixth grade, he began private art lessons with Jesse Adams, working in charcoal, pastel and oils. He studied with Adams through his senior year of high school.
