Casting is completed and rehearsals are underway for the Sherman Community Players’ fourth show of its 65th anniversary season — Boeing Boeing. Performances will begin the first week of April at the Finley Theater in Sherman.

The comedy, written by Marc Camoletti and translated by Beverly Cross and Francis Evans, is a farce centered on an American living in Paris and attempting to have a relationship with three different women. Bernard, played by Jerry Gundersheimer, is involved with three different flight attendants from around the globe - Gloria (Donna House) in New York City, Gabriella (Laurie Cutler) from Italy and Gretchen (Gaynell Doshier) from Germany. Rounding out the cast is Bernard’s friend, Robert (Morgan Hernard) from Wisconsin and the unhappy French maid, Berthe (Lisa Avila).

"This is going to be a very fun show and we are having a ton of fun in rehearsals already," says Anthony Nelson, artistic director. "It’s kind of a refreshing departure from the gravity of the Rabbit Hole themes."

Among backstage crew members are SCP veterans Pam Sanza as stage manager and Deborah Barrax as assistant stage manager, understudy and props. Tony Poncetti, a newcomer to the SCP, is costume designer for the production and is making, from scratch, 1960s-era flight attendant costumes.

Tickets for Boeing Boeing go on sale to the general public on April 2 and can be reserved/purchased by calling the SCP box office at 903-892-8818. Adult tickets are $16 and the student rate is $8.
