"Here Comes Santa Claus" is the theme of the annual Christmas recital presented by the students of Kristina’s Studio of Dance. The recital is set for 2 p.m. on Dec. 8 at the Sherman High School auditorium. It is free and is open to the public.

Dancers age three through adult will be performing routines in tap, ballet, jazz, point, clogging and hip hop. All the music will be to a Christmas theme. The recital will be presented in two scenes: "Christmas Spirit" and "Jolly Holidays." The opening the performance will be a jazz routine to "Here Comes Santa Claus," performed by Kristina’s Diamond Competition Team. Members include Elizabeth Morgan, Emma Fleming, Leah Paveloff, Anthony McKinney, Bethany O’Neal and Ashton Swift. The Crystal Team will be featured in a jazz routine to "The Man With the Bag." Members include Katey Cooper, Kaytlyn Hensley, D’nai Massey, Brittney Hampton, and Payton Williams. Both teams will also be featured in a hip hop routine to "Ice Ice Baby."


Three to five year old dancers will perform to "Gingerbread Bounce," "Snowflakes," "Tip Toe the Dancing Elf" and many more holiday favorites. Older students will be dancing to "Santa Claus Lane," "Silver Bells," and "It Snowed" and others.


Karyssa Lott is the studio’s hip hop instructor. Her students will be performing to "Brighter Lights," "Holiday Bounce" and "Deck the Halls." Dena Massey, the ballet instructor will present her choreography to "Camouflage and Christmas Lights," "Snowglobe," "If You Can’t Find Christmas in Your Heart" and "A Christmas Prayer." A routine will be performed by the pointe students to "City of Silver Dreams." Adult classes will be featured performing a tap dance to "What Christmas Means to Me" and a clogging routine to "Christmas Party." Jennifer McCarthy is the instructor for the adult classes. The Finale, "Santa Claus is Coming to Town," will feature the entire cast.


Santa Claus will be making his yearly appearance in the finale and will be available to visit with "kids" of all ages.


Principal choreographer is the studio owner and artistic director, Kristina Beeler, who has also created the stage scenery. Other instructors and choreographers include Haley Cox, Dena Massey, Lindsey Herrin, Karyssa Lott and Jennifer McCarthy. Student assistant is Elizabeth Morgan. The lighting technician is Kyle Harris and the sound engineer is Shawn Remek.
