Sadler music show


SADLER — The monthly "Pickin’ ‘n Grinnin’ ‘n Laffin’ Out Loud" show will be held this Saturday, 7 p.m., at the Sadler Community Center. It is free and open to the public.


Performing live music will be Tom Brott and the Country Roads Band from Sherman. Band members include Chris Walling, Greg Tarvin, Frank Stseele, Keith McLaughlin and Amanda Vast.


A drawing for a cake will be held during intermission and the concession stand will be open.


Theatrical honors


Two local residents, Webster Crocker and Aaron Adair, are among honorees in the 15th annual Column Awards. The awards honor excellence in theater within the Dallas-Fort Worth theater community.


Crocker was named by The Column’s associate theater critic, Rachel Sampson, as one of last year’s best scenic designers for his set design of the Sherman Community Player’s production of The Dixie Swim Club. Crocker serves as the SCP administrator, Theatricks director and technical director.


Adair was named by The Column’s associate theater critic Richard S. Blake, as the best actor in the musical category. Adair was given the honor for his role in the SCP production of The Drowsy Chaperone." In addition to performances with the SCP, Adair has had roles in numerous theatrical productions during the Oklahoma Shakespearean Festival, as well as having television and film credits including Friday Night Lights, Born on the Fourth of July, Talk Radio and more.
