Students from Kristina’s Studio of Dance will be featured in the annual Christmas recital this Sunday. The performance will be at 2 p.m. in the Sherman High School auditorium. It is free and open to the public.
The Children’s Chorus of Greater North Texas will be performing at 7 p.m. Monday at Trinity Lutheran Church in Sherman. The concert is free and open to the public.
BELLS — Santa Claus will be at Bells City Hall from 5:30 p.m. until 6:30 p.m. on Monday. Free hot dogs, cookies, drinks and candy will be provided and each child will receive a small gift from Santa.
Attendees are encouraged to bring their cameras to take their children’s photos with Santa and Mrs. Claus.
Applications from local charitable agencies/programs requesting donations are being accepted by the Denison Service League from now through Jan. 31, 2014. Each year, the league distributes funds earned from its Bargain Box resale shop and other fundraising events to local non-profit organizations.
To request a donation, send a letter to the league describing the organization and what it does for the community, specific needs, and the amount of money being requested. The letter will need to be sent to the following: Allocations Chair, Denison Service League, P.O. Box 4, Denison, TX 75021-0004.
BONHAM — A special exhibit called Serendipity is available for viewing at the Bonham Creative Arts Center throughout December. Hours are Tuesday through Friday from 10 a.m. until 5 p.m. and Saturdays from 9 a.m. until 1 p.m. and the center is located at 200 West 5th Street. It will also be open in Christmas eve.
The exhibit is being presented by the Art Is Study Group and is similar to last year’s LandMARKS exhibit. Not only are finished works on display, but the studies and sketches that helped bring those paintings to life for the seven artists who created them.
For last minute shoppers, the center still has a number of one-of-a-kind handcrafted gifts to choose from.
