Loyd Ray and Mary Evelyn (Linsteadt) Lance of Denison marked their 65th wedding anniversary with a gathering of family and friends earlier this month. The celebration was held in at the home of Kay and Dave Tamplin of Denison.

Loyd Ray and Mary Evelyn (Linsteadt) Lance of Denison marked their 65th wedding anniversary with a gathering of family and friends earlier this month. The celebration was held in at the home of Kay and Dave Tamplin of Denison.


The Lances were married Nov. 26, 1948 in the rectory of St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in Denison. Officiating was the Rev. Joseph P. Erbrick. Attendants were Laura Marie Lively and Herbert Fox.


Mary Lance was a housewife and mother to the couple’s four children.


Loyd Lance worked for the Southwestern Bell Telephone Company for 40 years, retiring in 1988, and he enjoyed hunting. After his retirement, the couple traveled throughout the United States and Canada with Texoma Tours.


The Lance’s children are Gary and Barbara Lance, Kathy Calvert, Ellen and Mark Cross and Kay and Dave Tamplin, all of Denison. They have six grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
