As an aid to coping with the loss of a loved one, the Hope Center of Texoma is offering a Healing Art Workshop next month. The Hope Center is a community outreach program of Home Hospice of Grayson County.

The free, four-part seminar will focus on creating art as a part of the healing process. It is scheduled for Feb. 4, 11, 18 and 25 at the Home Hospice office, 505 West Center, in Sherman. There will be two sessions for participants to choose from — a session from 1 p.m. until 2:30 p.m. and another from 5 p.m. until 6:30 p.m. Participants will discover a creative way to remember their loved ones and have the opportunity to share with other attendees. There is no fee to attend, but reservations must be made by this Thursday so that adequate materials can be prepared. Call 903-868-9315 or send an email to jolene.senek@homehospice.org.

"By attending this workshop, participants will be able to create something that incorporates their memories into a piece," says Jolene Senek, LBSW, CT,GC-C, the Home Hospice bereavement coordinator and faacilitator of the group. "This not only makes the piece unique, but it can be a meaningful and healing experience for the bereaved."
