Jimmie and Sharron Gibbons of Sherman were honored Jan. 25th with a 50th wedding anniversary dinner. The celebration was held at the Prairie House Restaurant and hosted by the couple’s children and grandchildren.

Jimmie and Sharron Gibbons of Sherman were honored Jan. 25th with a 50th wedding anniversary dinner. The celebration was held at the Prairie House Restaurant and hosted by the couple’s children and grandchildren.


The Gibbons were married Jan. 25, 1964 at Southmayd Baptist Church in Southmayd. Officiating was the Rev. William Fry.


Sharron Gibbons was born in Sherman, the daughter of B.J. Sr. and Helen Patterson. She graduated from S&S Consolidated High School in 1963 and was an escrow officer/closer with Sherman Title and Chapin Title for many years.


Jimmie Gibbons was born in Sherman, the son of J.E. and Imo Jean Gibbons. He graduated from S&S Consolidated High School in 1962 and attended Cooke County Junior College and East Texas State College. He is a life-long cattle rancher.


The couple enjoys managing and updating their real estate properties and spending time with their grandchildren.


The Gibbons’ children are Beckie Fennell and her husband, Jim, and Karen Miller and her husband, Dan. There are eight grandchildren.
