Alan and Barbara Curry of Denison recently celebrated their 63rd anniversary with a family gathering. They were married Nov. 17, 1950 at the First Baptist Church in Monahans by the Rev. Pearson. Attendants were Joyce Harrison of Snyder and Kenneth Duggin of Monahans.

Alan and Barbara Curry of Denison recently celebrated their 63rd anniversary with a family gathering. They were married Nov. 17, 1950 at the First Baptist Church in Monahans by the Rev. Pearson. Attendants were Joyce Harrison of Snyder and Kenneth Duggin of Monahans.


Barbara Curry was born in Midland, the daughter of Julius "Tex" and Edna Lawless. She attended Southwest Texas State University in San Marcos and taught piano in Denison for several years.


Alan Curry was born in Kirk, the son of Harold and Iris Curry. He attended Texas A&M University and was employed at the Johns-Manville plant in Denison, retiring as a quality control supervisor after 29 years of service.


The Curries are members of Parkside Baptist Church. Through the years, they have enjoyed restoring Model A cars, wood-carving, training certified hearing dogs, music and mystery trips.


The couple’s children are Lanny Curry and his wife, Lynda, of Garland, Monty Curry and his wife, Dr. Kathy Curry, of Tulsa, Oklahoma, and Terry Goodin and her husband, Garry, of Tallahassee, Florida. There are six grandchildren.
