DENISON — St. Luke’s Episcopal Church in Denison is preparing for its winter clothing giveaway and is in need of donations for children and adults.

On average, St. Luke’s giveaways see more than 600 area residents and they run out of children’s clothing the fastest.

In preparation of a high number of giveaway shoppers, the church is in need of coats, sweaters, hats, gloves, scarves, boots, and socks for all ages. They are in need of children’s clothes in all sizes from newborn to size 16. They are also in need of blankets, quilts, comforters, bedspreads and sheets in all sizes.

The church will also be giving away practical housewares at the giveaway so they are in need of dishes, glasses, silverware, cookware, coffee makers, toasters, and microwaves.

The clothing giveaway will be held from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Nov. 10 and from 9 a.m. to noon Nov. 11. Free eye examinations will be given from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. on the Friday of the giveaway.

The clothing giveaway will be held in Kohfeldt Hall at the church and will be presented by the Manna Ministries. No proof of income or residency is needed.
