A benefit auction for Emorie Clayton will begin at 2 p.m. Aug. 12 in Whitesboro.
Emorie, 7, is currently in the pediatric intensive care unit at Children’s Hospital in Dallas. She is recovering from multiple organ failures and several surgeries as a result of an E. coli infection.
She is the daughter of Zac and Jamie Clayton of Collinsville. Friends and family members are coming together to raise funds to offset extensive medical expenses.
Featuring something for everyone, according to Austin Lewter, Emorie’s uncle, the event will include a skeet shoot beginning at 2 p.m., followed by a full lineup of bands to perform, dinner at 6 p.m. and live auction at 7 p.m. A bounce house for children will be included.
Lewter added that event organizers are seeking donations for the auction. “We are looking for items large and small. This is a great way local businesses and individuals can come together to help one of their own,” he said.
Anyone interested in making a donation may call Lewter at 903-436-8807 or Cara King at 940-391-8999. Monetary donations may also be made to the “Emorie Clayton Benefit Account” at any Landmark Bank location.
For information about the skeet tournament, contact Matt Chisum at 903-815-8074. The benefit will take place at 597 Dixie Road, Whitesboro.
