Kristina’s Studio of Dance recently ended its dance season and will soon be recognizing its dancers for their years of commitment.
The studio will hold its 41st recital at 7 p.m. Friday at the Sherman High School auditorium. An awards presentation will be held at 6:30 p.m. Lauren Bell will be recognized at the studio’s graduating senior.
“My dancers have come a long way this season,” studio owner Kristina Beeler said. “All of them have grown tremendously. They have learned so much this season. I am really proud of each of them.”
The theme for the production is, “Dancing Calendar Countdown,” and dance numbers will range in category from tap, jazz, and ballet to lyrical, contemporary and modern. There will also be hip-hop and pointe numbers.
The presentation will be broken down into two acts, “Starting the countdown,” and “Ending the countdown.”
“It is important for parents to see what their children have been doing this past year,” Beeler said. “They grow so much in not just dance but in life. Some of them come to class very shy and reserved the first few days and then by the end of the year they are laughing and talking to the other students.”
In June, the studio earned a first place award at its national competition for its dance, “Dear Future Husband.” They also won first place in the regional competition. In June, the competition scene will be attending a competition in San Antonio.
