Dancendy Dance Center in Sherman will be dedicating its year-end performance to senior student Kristen Graham.

The season closer will be held at 7 p.m. Saturday at Cruce Stark Auditorium at Grayson County College. An awards presentation will be held at 6:30 p.m. Dancers will perform jazz, tap, ballet, modern, and hip-hop numbers.

Graham will be graduating from Pottsboro High School this year.

“She has grown into an extremely confident and driven person,” Dancendy owner Cindy Martin said. “She is not shy at all. She is so funny and happy.”

She took her first class at Dancendy when she was three years old. She has been helping teach classes for four years and has competed on the Dancendy team for two years.

“This year we have had a lot of fun performing at community events,” Martin said. “Competitions are great, but I talked with the girls, and we really wanted to be more a part of the community. This year has been about giving back. Next year we want to have an even bigger face in the community.”

Dancers will be recognized for years of consecutive study. Awards will be presented to Claire Bigelow, Elizabeth Carney, Brooke Day, Millie Franklin, Paisley Rae Garcia, Marijane Goolsby, Lydia Gudorf, Baylee Pena, Abigail Powless, and Sophie Sutton for two years of study. Novalee Adams, Skylar Douglas, Sydney Douglas, Harley Houghland, Kamryn Johnson, Jenelle Lease, Allie Newtown, and Jillian Square will receive awards for four years of study. Grace Jones, Aubrey Means, Lillian Pratt, Savannah Ringger, and Malea Taylor will receive awards for six years of study. Elena Murray will be awarded for eight years of study and Graham will be awarded for 14 years of study.
