Valentine's dinner hosted by Sherman Community Players Theater Guild
Reservations are still being taken for the Sherman Community Players Theater Guild's annual Valentine's Dinner Fundraiser.
At 6 p.m. on Feb. 13 the guild will host a catered, candlelight dinner in the Finley Cultural Center meeting room. Serving the meal will be members of the Theater Guild. The cost for the dinner is $25 per person, and reservations must be made by calling 903-870-0851. If there is no answer, leave a message and the call will be returned as soon as possible.
Complete the romantic evening by also reserving tickets to the Sherman Community Players' production of The Nerd. The play will be held in the Finley Theater immediately after the dinner. It tells the story of Willum, a young architect, whose life was saved many years ago in the Vietnam War by a man named Rick whom he has never met. Years later, Rick shows up at Willum's apartment and turns out to be the "nerdiest" person imaginable. Soon, the geeky war hero destroys Willum's social life, as well as his professional career, and Willum is helpless to do anything about it because he feels he owes his life to Rick. The result is a comedy guaranteed to have viewers laughing outloud.
To purchase tickets for the play (which is not included in dinner ticket cost), call the SCP box office at 903-892-8818.
